Warm Sunshine Greets Competitors and Fans at I-80 Speedway

OMAHA, NE (April 2, 2010) - Mother Nature appears to be taking a much needed
break as warm spring sunshine is shining on the I-80 Speedway on Friday
afternoon as the track prepares for the previously postponed 2010 season
opener. Saturday's forecast calls for much more of the same which brings a
smile to the face of I-80 Speedway Promoter Ed Kosiski. "We needed this,
it's been a long winter and we are finally ready to get racing." The Lucas
Oil MLRA takes center stage on Saturday night April 3rd but preliminary
events featuring Late Models, B-Mods, Hornets, and IMCA Modifieds headline
the NASCAR/IMCA National Points Night events on Friday night. Saturday's
action will feature the Lucas Oil MLRA Dirt Late Model Touring Series along
with Modifieds and Hobby Stocks as the support classes.
The pit gates on Friday night will open at 4:00, with hot laps at 6:00 and
racing at 6:30. Grandstand gates will open will open at 5:00 on Friday.The
racing action starts at 6:30pm on Saturday with the gates set to open at
3:00. Adult Admission is set at $15 with Juniors (6-15) just $8. Kids 5 and
under are admitted FREE. The Lucas Oil MLRA will be racing for $3,000 to win
while the IMCA Modifieds will also be in action with a special $1,000 to win
top prize. IMCA Hobby Stocks round out the support classes.
The I-80 Speedway is located off Interstate I-80 at Exit 420 between Omaha
and Lincoln and is part of the Nebraska Raceway Park Complex, which also
includes the Little Sunset Speedway Go-Kart track and the Soaring Edge
