Doubleheader at Sedalia and Thunder Hill this Weekend
BUCKNER, MO (May 18th, 2010) - After yet another rainout this past weekend
at the Nevada Speedway, the Stars and Cars of the Lucas Oil MLRA head to
Sedalia's State Fair Speedway this Friday, May 21st followed by the New
Thunder Hill Speedway in Mayetta, Kansas this Saturday, May 22nd with great
weather in the forecast. This will be the series' first visit to Sedalia
this season and the first visit to Thunder Hill in more than three seasons.
Jason Bodenhamer and Reid Millard are in their first season of promoting the
fabled Missouri State Fair Speedway while Thunder Hill also recently changed
ownership as Mike, Dave, and Dean Conkwright are now at the helm.
Gates open at Sedalia this Friday night, May 21st at 5pm with hot laps set
to begin at 7:00, and racing at 7:30. General admission is $15 for adults
with pit pass pricing set at $30. The Rick Ball Ford 360 Sprints and W-K
Chevrolet Modifieds will join the super late models this weekend. Please

Saturday, May 22nd, the Lucas Oil MLRA Late Models will join the IMCA Weekly
Series at Thunder Hill. Pit Gates open at 4:00 PM, grandstand gates at 5:00
PM, with the driver's meeting set for 6:15. Hot laps will hit the track at
6:30, with the first heat at 7:30 PM. Pit passes will be $30.00. Grandstand
general admission is $15.00, Seniors 65 and up are $13.00 each, kids 6-12
are $10.00, and kids 5 and under are free. Thunder Hill Speedway is located
at 11995 142nd Road in Mayetta, KS (2 miles West of US-75 and 142nd Road).

6-Time and defending Lucas Oil MLRA Champion Al Purkey will lead the MLRA
brigade into action as he continues his impressive start to the 2010 season
in his new Hatfield Powered Larry Shaw Race Car. Purkey won the most recent
Lucas Oil MLRA event held on April 10th at Lucas Oil Speedway for his first
ever win at the picturesque facility in Wheatland, Missouri. Republic,
Missouri's Brad Looney occupies the second spot in points just 10 points
behind Purkey, while Springfield's Terry Phillips sits in third, 16 points
out of the top spot.
The 2008 MLRA Champion, John Anderson holds down the fourth spot in points
after having won the Season Opener at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Nebraska
on April 3rd. Mount Vernon, Iowa's Chad Simpson rounds out the Top-5 with
121 points to Purkeys 141. With two (2) MLRA provisionals on the line for
the 18th Annual DART Show-Me 100, the next two races are pivotal as the
drivers jockey for the top spots in the MLRA points standings.
The biggest of the event of the Season takes place on May 28th-29th as the
Lucas Oil MLRA heads to Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri for the
18th Annual DART Show-Me 100 Presented by Lucas Oil Products. The MLRA has
traditionally been a part of the Diamond Nationals on Mother's Day Weekend
but the 2010 season will have the MLRA at both the $30,000 to Win Show-Me
100 on Memorial Day Weekend for the first time and the $10,000 to win CMH
Diamond Nationals on July 17th. The races are Co-Sanctioned by the Lucas Oil
