GREENWOOD, NE (September 22, 2010) - The Cornhusker Classic will fill the
upcoming weekend with racing action at the I-80 Speedway. The Lucas Oil MLRA
will be the main attraction Saturday September 25th in Greenwood, Nebraska.
This will be the final trip to I-80 for the Lucas Oil MLRA in the 2010
Championship Season. Previous winners at the 4/10 mile track this season
include, Terry Phillips, Kelly Boen, and John Anderson. Phillips has driven
his #75 GRT by Phillips to victory lane in the last two series races in
Greenwood.
Republic, Missouri's Brad Looney is hungry for a win in the 2010 season
after several top 10 finishes, including a second place finish at
Springfield Raceway this past weekend. To add even more incentive for
Looney, he has taken over the Championship Points battle by a mere four
points. Itching for a win in second place is Oxford, Iowa's Dave Eckrich.
Eckrich has one win this season, and holds only a two point lead over six
time and defending Lucas Oil MLRA Champion, Al Purkey. Purkey is running
well and looks to be driving a Ronnie Warman owned Shaw race car on Saturday
night, as he awaits a brand new Shaw race car to finish the season. Of the
top three competitors, Looney has been the most consistent with a season
long average finish of 7.4.
