Marquee Events Highlight Lucas Oil MLRA 2011 Schedule!
BUCKNER, MO (December 28, 2010) - The 2011 Lucas Oil MLRA season will kick
off in early April at Nebraska Raceway Park for the Spring Meltdown on April
2. A total of 25 race events are tentatively scheduled with several marquee
races to highlight the season. An early season addition of The Sunflower
State Showdown in Jetmore, Kansas is a two night event paying a separate
purse each night.
In May the series will participate in the 19th Annual Dart Show-Me 100 at
Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri, which is scheduled to be
televised on CBS in early June. The three night Show-Me will be followed up
with another signature event, the Alphabet Soup Race at Nebraska Raceway
Park on May 29.
A quiet June will make way for July which is packed full of racing
action.The 5th Annual CMH Diamond Nationals at Lucas Oil Speedway will take
place on July 16th. The Silver Dollar Nationals is slated for July 21-23,
2011 at Nebraska Raceway Park. The event will be the largest late model
purse in Nebraska history, paying $25,000 to win and $1,000 to start. The
month of July will conclude at Lucas Oil Speedway with an event ran in
conjunction with the inaugural Diamond Drag Boat Nationals.
The Lucas Oil MLRA will return to Mayetta, Kansas for Thunder on the Hill
III on September 30th and October 1st. The grand finale of the season will
be The Clyde Ellis Late Model Showdown at Lakeside Speedway on October 7th
and 8th.
Other notable events include the John Kuntz and Larry Phillips Memorial
events held in May and September at the Springfield Raceway. An early April
tilt at Heartland Park Topeka will add a new wrinkle to the busy early
season schedule. An unforgettable fireworks show will take place following
the series annual stop at Adams County Speedway.
The King of the Hill race will take place in Mid August at the beautiful
Junction Motor Speedway. The fan friendly facility boasts large crowds for
the two day show. The Missouri State Fair finale is the Lucas Oil MLRA race
on Sunday, August 21st at the historic half mile in Sedalia, Missouri. The
Lucas Oil MLRA 2010 season was a huge success with an incredible points
battle, 2011 looks to impress with new events and generous payouts.
