Capital City Clash at Heartland Park
BUCKER, MO (October 3, 2011) - The Lucas Oil MLRA continues on with the
Capital City Clash taking place near the end of the work week. Heartland
Park in Topeka, KS will host the series for the final time this season on
Thursday, October 6th and Friday, October 7th. John Anderson comes into the
race as one of the favorites, having won three of the last four series
races. In April, he was the runner up to Brad Looney at Heartland Park.
Anderson has also assumed a 14 point lead in the Lucas Oil MLRA Championship
chase. This weekend will go a long way in determining the 2011 Champion.
There is a big field expected, as the races continue to dwindle down as the
season nears completion.
Typically, this race has been held at Lakeside Speedway in conjunction with
the NASCAR weekend at Kansas Speedway. However, Lakeside was flooded at the
end of June, and the balance of the season was cancelled. Rather than let
the race get out of fans and drivers routine, the Lucas Oil MLRA stepped up
and found a one year home for the event. Next season it will return to
Lakeside Speedway.
Kenny Wallace has confirmed his intentions to race this weekend in the
modified class. The modifieds will be running open A Modified rules. Contact
Ernie Leftwich at 417 684 1909, with any rules questions, for either the
late models or modifieds.
The Lucas Oil MLRA Late Models will be competiting for $2,500 to win on
Thursday and $3,500 to win on Friday. The modifieds will be running for
$1,000 to win each night.

laps will be at 6:30 PM with racing at 7:30 PM. Adult tickets are $20 each
day. Kids 6-14 are $8 each day, with 5 and under free.Pit passes are $30
