IMCA American Stock Car Shoot-Out winner will take home $3,000 prize
MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (June 9, 2006) The top paying special IMCA Sunoco Stock Car special of the season returns to Marshalltown Speedway Monday and Tuesday, June 26-27, with the winner of the American Stock Car Shoot-Out going home with $3,000.
The purse for Tuesday nightıs feature has been upped to $14,800, making the 2006 payout the biggest in the 11 year history of the event.
Sanctioned Hobby Stocks are also on the card both nights and chase a top prize of $1,250. Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods join the program Monday with a $250 to win feature. IMCA Modifieds race Tuesday for $400 to win.
National, regional and Smiley's Racing Products state points will be awarded to all competitors. Two day tow money of $75 against money earned will be paid in the Stocks and $50 in the Hobbies.
"This event has been successful since its inception and rivals the Stock Car feature at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals in terms of anticipation," IMCA Vice President of Operations Brett Root. "We look forward to a good turnout of fans and racers from across the country."
Top six finishers in Monday qualifying features for the Stocks and Hobbies advance to Tuesdayıs main events, with the balance of the 24 car fields to be determined by heats and last chance races.
Pit gates at Marshalltown open at 4 p.m. Monday and at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Grandstands open at 5:30 p.m., hot laps are at 6:45 p.m. and racing starts at 7:30 p.m.
Pit passes are $25 both nights. Admission on Monday is $10 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under with a paid adult. Tuesday admission is $15 for adults, with kids 12 and under again getting in for $5 when accompanied by an adult.
Camping sites with electrical hookups are available at the fairgrounds, for $10 a night.
