Five points races added for IMCA's Karl Chevrolet Northern

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (June 24, 2006) Five points races for IMCA's Karl Chevrolet
Northern SportMod division have been added to the early summer calendar.
Northern SportMods are part of the opening night show during the IMCA American
Stock Car Shoot-Out at Marshalltown Speedway on Monday, June 26 and join Deery
Brothers Summer Series programs on Tuesday, July 11 at Marshalltown and
Wednesday, July 12 at Shelby County Speedway in Harlan.
Two events are set for Thursday, July 20, as part of the Harris Clash for IMCA
Modifieds at Knoxville Raceway and at the Benton County Fair special in Vinton.
Pit gates open at 4 p.m., hot laps are at 6:45 p.m. and racing starts at 7:30
p.m. both nights at Marshalltown. The June 26 race pays $250 to win, while top
prize on July 11 is $200.
Gates open at 3 p.m., hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. and racing follows at Harlan,
where the winner goes home with $300.
First place at Knoxville pays $500. Gates open at 3:30 p.m., hot laps are at
6:30 p.m. and racing gets underway at 7:15 p.m.
At Vinton, gates open at 4 p.m., hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. and racing is at 7
p.m. SportMods chase a $250 check.
Sanctioned Modifieds, Stock Cars and Hobby Stocks are on the same fair night
program and all applicable IMCA points will be awarded.
The Modified feature pays $1,000 to win, making it a qualifying event for the
2007 All-Star Invitational ballot.
