MARSHALLTOWN, IA (Nov. 1) - The Marshalltown Speedway has the 2010 race schedule in place with 27 events set to be run. The first sign of race cars will be at the Marshalltown Mall on March 26th. - 28th. with an open practice for all being held on Sunday the 28th. The racing season will once again be kicked off with the annual Tri-County Heating S&B Trailers Frostbuster Special on Friday, April 2nd. In 2009, a record 205 cars signed in for this event that was attended by drivers from seven states and Canada. The following Friday night weekly action will get kicked off with the familiar four IMCA divisions with the Modifieds, Stock Cars, Sport Mods, Hobby Stocks, and the ever quick Mod Lites. Special events to mark on the calendar will be the Miller Lite 50 for Deery Brothers Late Models on Tuesday May 18th, the Great American Stock Car Shootout will make it's first stop of a four night series on Monday June 28th, the 2nd appearance of the USMTS Modifieds will be Tuesday August, 31st., and the Fourth Annual Havoc on the Highbanks will be September 17th. and 18th. With one season just winding down and 2010 on the horizon, one anonymous race fan has already stepped up and will be adding an additional $50 to win to the IMCA feature winner at all weekly shows. The annual awards banquet is set for November 21st at the Meskwaki Hotel Casino and is open to all drivers, crew members, and fans at a cost of $20 per person.
