EXCITING 2007 SCHEDULE FOR MID-AMERICA 305 WINGED SPRINTS
By: Tony Paris
OTTUMWA, IA. (Feb 4, 2007) - The 2007 season looks to be one of the most
exciting season for the winged warriors in the 305 sprints class. With several
new tracks coming on board for the 2007 should make the 2007 chase for the
championship even more exciting with tracks ranging from 1/4 mile racing
surfaces to the always fast 1/2 miles and the always favored 3/8 mile speedways.
The first race of the season will kickoff at 34 Raceway in Burlington,Iowa
with new owners Jeff and Amy Laue returning sprints to 34 Raceway and making a
very good payoff for the Mid-America 305 special events paying $600 to win with
$100 to start and $75 tow money for five special events at 34 Raceway. The other
four race dated are all Saturday nights and are May 19th, July 21st, August 4th
and August 18th. If that isn`t enough racing for the drivers and fans you can
see them every Saturday night at 34 Raceway for the Zaiser Fabrication 305
sprints each event paying $450 to win and $100 to start and $50 tow money. A
$700 to win and $125 start event on Saturday night September 1st.
A new adventure will be the home of the state capitol at the big 1/2 mile the
Iowa State Fair Speedway in Des Moines with the first ever apperance of the
Mid-America 305 Winged Sprints on Friday night April 20th and would like to
thank promoter Mick Trier for the chance at the big historical half-mile.
The track that it all started at will host seven events at the Mountain-Dew
Bloomfield in Bloomfield,Iowa with the first apperance in 2007 will be Friday,
May 19th.
The other Friday nights will be June 8th, June 29th, August 17th and August
24th. Two other events will be Thursday night July 12th for the Davis County
Fair and Saturday night September 8th being the championship night special
event. We would like to thank Todd Staley of R L Promotions and the Davis County
Fairboard for there support in 2007.
In the first ever apperance at the Benton County Fair in Vinton,Iowa the home of
the semi-banked 1/4 mile promoted by Mick Trier and this should be a very
exciting night on Thursday night July 26th.
Another first time ever apperance will be at the Mahaska County monster
half-mile the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa with two apperances scheduled
on Wednesday nights May 23rd and July 18th. This will be a very exciting night
on the 1/2 mile promoted by R L Promotions and Todd and Janet Staley of Webster
City.
We would like to thank all the tracks for a chance to put together a very nice
2007 season schedule with several first time apperances. With several new cars
being put together it should make for some very good shows for the
fans, drivers, promoters and organization. We would like to thank everyone who
stopped at the Knoxville Raceway Swap meet in January and picked up the new
rules and schedules and look forward to the up coming 2007 season and we`ll see
