Widmar exited with motor problems on the first lap. Hill took over the early lead in the 8 lapper. He was passed by Phillips on the third go-around. Phillips used the high side of the super-fast racetrack to quickly move forward and pull away. The top four qualified for the feature redraw.

Walton's motor went up in smoke in hot laps. Breazeale led flag to flag. Van Haaften and Alexander retired on lap five. Lynch moved into second putting all four wheels above the cushion in turns one and two.

A main (started): 1. T. Phillips (8) 2. Padellford (6) 3. Lamb (5) 4. Matt Stephenson (12) 5. Widmar (20) 6. Huston (10) 7. Hill (3) 8. Whiting (7) 9. Trueblood (16) 10. Boles (4) 11. Rodgers (18) 12. Bergquist (15) 13. Jamison (2) 14. Alexander (17) 15. Mayberry (13) 16. Van Haaften (14) 17. Breazeale (11) 18. Hutchings (19) 19. Lynch (9) 20. Marty Stephenson (1) DNS - Kubli, Walton

Marty Stephenson elected to start at the rear, and retired after one lap. The 25 lapper began with a battle for the lead won by Hill. On lap two, Padellford used the high side of one and two to take the point. T. Phillips was into third by lap one, and had the lead for himself on lap five. Three laps later, Hutchings would stop bringing caution. At the time, T. Phillips led Padellford, Lamb, Hill and Mayberry, who was on the move. T. Phillips again pulled away, and was negotiating traffic with ease. On lap fourteen, Mayberry had something in the suspension break. Creating a dangerous situation by trying to turn into the infield in front of traffic, he was T-boned by Van Haaften, who had nowhere to go and was not pleased with the stunt. Now T. Phillips led Padellford, Hill, Lamb and Huston back to green flag racing. It was clear sailing for T. Phillips until one last caution came out as he saw the checkers. This time, it was Jamison who had stopped. He was able to hold on in the green, white, checker finish for his first career win and $1,500. His 15th birthday occured about a month ago! Widmar earned hard-charger honors moving up 15 spots.
