SPRING VALLEY, MN (July 10) - Jordan Yaggy led out of turn two for the Altenburg Construction WISSOTA Late Model feature event with Roger Herrick, and Doug Herrick joining him to make it three wide for the lead as lap one was completed. . Doug Herrick took the lead with Nick Herrick joining his dad Roger as they raced for third. Nick took the spot while Jerry Bloom moved into fifth. . Nick Herrick worked under Yaggy for second with four completed. Six completed and Roger Herrick, Mike Prochnow and Jerry Bloom were three wide for fourth. Prochnow took the spot while Nick and Yaggy were still racing for second. Yaggy took the spot back away but Herrick remained consistent and took away the second spot for good on lap seven. On lap eight Prochnow moved under Yaggy for third, with Kelly Anderson hot on his tail. Anderson worked past Yaggy for the fourth spot. With nine completed Doug Herrick had pulled out to a full straight away lead as the caution flew. On the restart Doug pulled back out front with Prochnow working into second. Nick Herrick and Anderson were side by side for third while Yaggy had Kyle Jumbeck pressuring him for fifth. Jumbeck took fifth with eleven down. With thirteen down Nick Herrick started working slightly lower on Prochnow for the second spot. With fifteen down Prochnow and Herrick were side by side at the stripe for the second position. As they raced side by side they touched slightly going down the back straight with Prochnow showing heavy smoke from the left rear. Two laps later Prochnow slowed with a flat tire from the contact. On the restart Doug Herrick pulled away again with Anderson and Nick Herrick racing for second. With eighteen down Nick sat in second again with Anderson in third. Jumbeck had worked into fourth while Joe Ludemann moved into the top five. Nick Herrick had his hands full over the last five laps as Anderson was all over his bumper and alongside of him in the corners. Doug Herrick took home the win with brother Nick in second. Anderson came home third followed by Jumbeck and Ludemann.
Veteran racer LeRoy Scharkey jumped out front in the EZ Fabricating USRA Modified feature event. Tim Donlinger moved into second early on with Todd Scharkey in third. Donlinger took over the top spot on lap two with two and three wide racing through the field. Todd Scharkey worked under his dad to take over the second spot. Ryan York worked into fifth right behind Joe Horgdal. With seven laps completed AJ Wiste worked low on Joe Horgdal for the fifth spot. After Wiste took the spot Steve Wetzstein pressured him after working into the sixth spot. Wiste and Wetzstein raced side by side with eleven down. The first caution flew on lap thirteen and on the restart Donlinger led. York, Wetzstein and LeRoy Scharkey were three wide for third. York held onto the spot with Wetzstein taking fourth. On the next lap Wetzstein again pulled alongside of your for third with Josh Angst and Jason Cummins racing for fifth on their bumpers. Another caution with sixteen down bunched the field back up. Donlinger again led on the restart with Wetzstein, Cummins and Todd Scharkey three wide for second. Sharkey held the spot leaving Wetzstein and Cummins to decide third. LeRoy Scharkey moved back around Angst to retake the fifth spot as the laps wound down. Donlinger took home the win with Todd Scharkey, Cummins, Wetzstein and LeRoy Scharkey rounding out the top five.
Tony Bloom led at the start of the US Army WISSOTA Super Stock feature event with Ryan Siegle working into second. A caution on lap one saw Bloom again leading with Siegle in second. Jeff Brauer and Brian Fetting were side by side for third. Brauer took control of the spot and started to pressure Siegle for second. Five laps in Fetting moved back past Brauer to battle with Siegle on his own. Cole Queensland moved into sixth. With eight laps down the top five were all running close, Bloom led with Siegle and Fetting racing for second Cole Queensland and Brauer were side by side for fourth. Siegle moved up to race Bloom for the lead with nine down, Siegle gained the spot with Brauer now racing Bloom for second. Queensland and Fetting were racing for fourth but on the next lap Queensland joined Brauer and Bloom in the battle for second. Bloom tapped the leaders bumper during the battle causing Siegle to spin and bring out the caution. On the restart Brauer jumper outside of Siegle to take the lead. Another restart on lap twelve saw Queensland work into third. Dave Solum was in fourth with Bloom charging back through the pack to challenge him for fourth. with fourteen down Queensland and Brauer were side by side for the lead. Queensland took the lead on lap fifteen but Brauer kept the pressure on for another lap until they made contact slowing Brauer's momentum and allowing Siegle to close up on him again. Queensland took home the win with Brauer in second and Siegle in third.
Jared Happel led early on in the Dirt Doctor Trucking WISSOTA Midwest Modified feature event with Bryan Hernandez and Ric Fynbo racing for second. Brandon Davis moved into fourth behind the Fynbo/Hernandez battle. On lap five Hernandez was credited with second as Fynbo now had Davis on his bumper. Hernandez looked under Happel for the lead on lap seven, they stayed this way with Happel leading at the line on lap eight but on lap nine Hernandez gained the lead. Davis moved into third on lap nine and then moved past Happel for the second spot. Fynbo and Happel made contact with Happel spinning and bringing out the caution. On the restart Hernandez led with Davis working the high line and trying to snag the lead away from him. Jerry Young, Happel and Dustin Scott were three wide for third with Happel holding onto the spot. Davis took the lead on lap eleven while Scott moved into third. Davis checked out from the pack to take home the win.
Karl Hewitt Jr. led lap one of the BP WISSOTA Street Stocks with Ryan Goergen and Troy Voth making three wide at the end of lap one. A spin caused a complete restart but the same three battled it out again on the restart. This time Voth took the lead on lap two while AJ Zvorak moved up to battle with Hewitt Jr. for second. Danny Hanson sat in fourth early on. while Mike Blowers, Donny Ganz and Goergen were three wide for fifth. Zvorak took second on lap four with Hanson following through to third. On lap eleven Hanson and Zvorak were side by side for second. This duo ran around the track until Zvorak pushed up in turn two on lap thirteen allowing Hanson to take the spot. Up front it was all Voth as he came home with the win followed by Hanson and Zvorak.
The Hinz Trucking USRA B-Modifieds saw Parker Hale jump out from early on with Brandon Hare in second. on lap two Hare took the lead with Ben Moudry moving into third. On lap two Moudry moved into second allowing Jake Timm to race with Hale for third. Josh Gesell worked into the top five and moved into fourth on lap four as he worked past Timm. On the next lap Gesell moved past hale for third while Colter Deutsch moved past Timm for fifth. A caution with five down saw the field bunch back up. Hare led on the restart with Deutsch and Gesell racing for second. Gesell had the preferred line and held the second spot. Kylie Kath worked above Timm and Dan Tenold for the fourth spot. on lap twelve Kath moved past Deutsch for third. Another caution on lap thirteen saw Hare lead with Kath and Gesell side by side for second. A late caution saw the field mix up as Hare led, Gesell took second with Deutsch in third. Tenold and Kath rounded out the top five on the green white checker dash.
