BY: Lonnie Wheatley
JACKSON, MN. (July 8, 2011) – Shane Stewart wired Friday
night’s Speedway Motors ASCS Midwest feature event to top Jackson Speedway’s
makeup of the Folken Brothers Trucking/Van Wyhe Livestock Spring Sprint Car
Nationals that was postponed from earlier in the year.
The current Lucas
Oil ASCS presented by K&N Filters National points leader outgunned pole
starter Wayne Johnson at the drop of the green flag and led all the way
without challenge to post his first Regional win of the year aboard Paul
Silva’s Wesmar-powered Rockstar Energy Drink/Makita No. 57 A.R.T.
Shane Stewart took
the checkered flag ahead of Jason Johnson, who nipped Wayne Johnson at the
stripe for runner-up honors. Jack Dover was fourth, with Brady Bacon
rounding out the top five.
Tony Bruce, Jr.,
was sixth, while Scott Winters raced from 20th to seventh. Jake
Peters, Lee Grosz and 17th-starter Billy Alley completed the top
ten.
Shawn Van Wyhe,
Stewart, Bruce, Jr., and Matt Juhl topped heat race action with Alley
winning the “B” Main.
