MALDEN, Mo. (April 28, 2006) - The Malden Speedway battled the weather all
night Friday, before halting the races after only two features were run. This
sets up double features in 4 classes next week. Chalking up wins Friday were
Greg Sparks in an exciting and confusing Hobby stock feature, and Jeff Jarrell
made it two in a row in the E-Mods.
A mix up in the radios between the tower and the flagman led to a confusing
Hobby stock feature. Greg Sparks and Kyle Berry swapped the lead back in forth
during the first half of the race. On lap 15, the official length of the race,
Sparks led Berry across the finish line. Because of the radio problems the
flagman did not drop the checkered until the following lap (16th). During the
final, extra lap Berry passed Sparks to set up the confusion. The track made the
15th lap the official standing and Sparks had his win. Then the rains came and
washed out the rest of the program until next week. Berry won the heat race.
Like I said last week, this is going to be an exciting class and both weeks of
points racing have proved to be.

checkered finish and Jarrell held off the late challenge of Todd Gibbs. Jarrell
