I-44 Speedway to host gigantic fireworks display; Independence
Day celebrations
LEBANON, MO. (June 28, 2006) - The Lebanon I-44 Speedway will once again host
the area’s largest fireworks display on Saturday in honor of Independence Day.
The holiday event, sponsored by Quality Heating and Air and The Lebanon Daily
Record will feature several attractions.
Local Relay For Life teams will have kids games starting at 5 p.m. to raise
money for the American Cancer Society. Local politicians will also be on hand
for a public meet and greet event.
Track promoter Randy Mooneyham said the fireworks show should last nearly 30
minutes and begin during intermission at approximately 9:45 p.m.
“The speedway has been having a fireworks display for about 20 years now,”
Mooneyham said, “and we’re known for those great shows.”
A change in the race schedule, Factory Stocks have also been added to the
line-up, but will not be racing for points.
The Wildest Wild Side Ride contest also continues. Fans on the Wild Side are
encouraged to decorate their vehicles with signs, banners and flags. The most
decorated vehicle will receive two free tickets to the next regular night of
racing and $20 cash from Hoffman race cars. This week, a second place prize of
two free tickets to the speedway has been added.
Prices for the special event are $12 for adult grandstand admission and $15 for
Wild Side adult admission. All juniors are $5 and kids 12 and under are always
free.
