by: Ronnie Williams
Lebanon, Mo. (April 14, 2006) - The 2006 chase for the championship began Friday Night at the
Lebanon Midway Speedway as close to 120 race teams checked in for the points
opener as Lebanon's Jared Harris put his name in the record books by grabbing
the win in the Fastrak Late Model Weekly Series Racing.
The start of the Fastrak Late Model feature had Daniel Moser grab the opening
lead with Harris in tow. Moser would lead until Harris pulled up to Moser's
bumper and pulled around in turn 4 on lap 5 to grab the lead. With Moser, the
tight battle for 3rd would see Shelby Thacker, Mike Berger, Jason Otto, and Ron
Myers battle for the spot as Myers was recovering from an earlier spin. Out in
front, Harris started to open up the lead over Moser as Thacker would see a flat
tire take him out of the 3rd place honors as Otto started to gain ground and
moved into 3rd place with Berger and Myers battling for position. As the
checkered flew, Harris would take the win with Moser, Otto, Berger and Myers
completing the top 5.
