Action Packed Night At LebanonMidway Produces New Winners
by: Ronnie Williams

LEBANON, MO. (July 21, 2006) - The weather provided a cooler evening but the racing action at the LebanonMidwaySpeedway was still hot and heavy with 80 race teams in the pits and some new faces in the winners circle.

The evening started with the SuperStock feature as Mark Davis grabbed the opening lead with Travis Hill following closely. On lap 3,Hill grabbed the top spot as back in the pack JC Newell,Donnie Gennings and point leader Ben Newell were battling for positions.Hill opened up the lead and it looked as if the rookie would become the 4th winner in this class until lapped traffic slowed the leader up on lap 8.Veteran racer JC"The Gentle Giant"Newell closed-up the gap and battled for the lead while Ben Newell was gaining along with Donnie Gennings. On lap 10,JC grabbed the top spot and began to pull away as Ben Newell took over second place on lap 11.With JC setting a quick pace, son Ben closed-up and caught the leader on lap 13.Heading for the white flag,Ben went to the outside as JC still set the pace.Coming for the last lap,Ben took over out of turn 2,but JC grabbed it back into turn 3.Coming for the checkered Ben shot to the outside again as the duo rubbed coming out of turn 4 with Ben grabbing the win by less than 3 inches with JC Newell,Travis Hill,Donnie Gennings and Randy Hill following.

The Bomber feature provided full moon action without the moon as Randy High grabbed the lad from Brian Goff gonig into turn 2 with James Redus following.High and Redus ran bumper to bumper as Billy Waters was coming quickly from his 8th starting spot.Following a couple of quick cautions for Chad Cromer and debris on the track,High and Redus continued this battle when Shawn Winfrey began his charge from 19th starting spot.Winfrey who was involved in a crash in his heat and took alot of damage had the car riding down low and moved into the top 5 on lap 9 just as Redus moved around High to take the lead. The caution flew on lap 10 as the field bunched-up on the restart with Redus in control as Winfrey was in the runner-up spot.On lap 12,Winfrey used the low groove to his liking and took over the lead with Redus following closely followed by High nd Billy Waters. As the field took the checkered,Winfrey broke his back luck streak by claiming the win with Redus,Waters,Missy Shaw and High in the top 5.

The Modifieds again provided a great 20 lap feature with Matt Johnson and Eric Hudson running side by side on the opening 2 laps with Hudson just holding at the line.On lap 3,Johnson would become the race leader as this battle continued with Johnson nosing ahead at the line.On lap 5 Hudson grabbed the lead back as Johnson stayed closed.Behind this battle,Sean Williams and point leader Tony Jackson Jr would battle as Jackson set his sights on the lead duo.The 1st caution came out on lap 14 as Craig Halderman spun and Darren Fullerton lost a driveshaft bunching up the field. On the restart,Johnson shot to the inside of Hudson, but Hudson had the middle high groove working strong tonight as he shoot back to the lead.Johnson would again pressure, but Hudson would take the win followed by Johnson,Jackson Jr,Williams and Jack Jones at the stripe.Next week the C&S towing challange finds if 20 Modifieds or more start the feature it will pay 600 to win and 100 to start.

The FactoryStock feature had Chris Ratterree grab the early lead with Jay Flinn close behind.Ratterree opened up a big lead over the field and looked to be headed for his 1st ever Midway win.Behind the leader,Flinn,Joe Davenport,Bobby Ratterree, point leader James Ellis and Troy White were battling for position. As the race was heading caution free, the leader Ratterree spun in turn 2 giving the lead to Flinn with Bobby Ratterree close behind. As the white flag displayed,Ratterree shot to the outside of Flinn and held on to grab his 1st win of the season with Flinn,Ellis,Troy White and Mike Shaddy following closely.

In SprintCar Action Eric Todd was riding a 2 win streak, but that came to a halt as point leader Clint Todd grabbed the lead from his dad Joe todd on the opening lap and never looked back in grabbing his win of the season.Joe Todd,Eric Todd, rookie Kyle Bellm and Scott Wedelstadt completed the top 5.
Jason Otto grabbed the opening lead and never looked back in winning his 1st ever Fastrak LateModel feature event with point leader Ron Myers and Tony Jackson Jr following.

Next week the track will host its 3rd Enduro of the season with the winner recieving $1,000 to win along with racing in 5 classes as the Fastrak LateModels will not be racing Friday Night July 28th.
