Payne Wins $3,000 Modified Feature at Poplar Bluff Speedway

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. (July 15, 2006) - Jeremy Payne of Batesville, Ar. had reason
to celebrate following his victory Saturday night in the Modified feature at the
Poplar Bluff Speedway. The victory came during the final night of the three-day
competition and it netted Payne $3,000 for the victory. Chad Kinder settled for
second place with Scott Weber third, Jared Landers fourth and Robert Powers
fifth. They were followed by Mike Bowers, Jason Hollis, Shane Moody, Vince
Wilson and Todd Clifford.
Ryan Poyner of East Prairie, Mo. won the Dwarf car feature and pocketed $500 for
the win with Aaron Bell second, Ronnie Byassee third, Nelson McMikle fourth and
Mike Zaricor fifth. They were followed by John Leahy, Bobby Black, Jim Black,
Bradley Lewis and Michael Poyner.
Jeff Beeson of Jackson, Mo. won the $1,000 Pure Street feature with Mark Todd
second, Claudie Cook third, Chris Kelley fourth and Chris Cannon fifth. They
were followed by Paul Reeder, Steve Carter, Barry Daniels, Skip Holman and Kyle
Berry.
During Friday night's results, Jared Landers won the Modified feature and
collected $2,000 for the win. Powers was second with Shane Stephens third, Mike
Bowers fourth and Denny Schwartz fifth. They were followed by Vince Wilson,
Scott Weber, Patrick Linn, Austin Matthews and Mike Francis.
During the Thursday night Modified feature, Landers picked up his first win of
the weekend and yet another $2,000 for his victory with Scott Weber second,
Jeremy Payne third, Vince Wilson fourth and Mike Bowers fifth. They were
followed by Mike Francis, Rich Whaley, Timothy Culp, Kevin Salter and Bob Test.
In the Pure Street feature from Thursday night, Claudie Cook was the winner with
Tony Anglin second, Jeff Beeson third, Johnny Houart fourth and Kyle Berry
fifth. They were followed by Steve Carter, Chris Cannon, Travis Goodman, Coot
Wilson and Jacob Black.
Racing resumes at the Poplar Bluff Speedway this Saturday night (July 22) with
"Coca-Cola Night," including the $1,000 to win Coca-Cola Super Street feature.
