Five for Five This Friday Night at I-70 Speedway
ODESSA, MO (May 2) - This Friday Night at I-70 Speedway fans will get an
extra treat. Not only will they see the regular Friday night IMCA classes, which
include the Modifieds, Stock Cars, SportMods and Sport Compacts, this week the
racing bill includes the new IMCA Crate Models. So Friday night fans will see
five dirt track classes for the general admission price of $5.00.
The Crate Model class is new to IMCA racing for the 2007 season and is just what
the name suggests, a full Late Model race car utilizing the GM crate engine as
the power plant. Three years ago IMCA introduced the crate motor concept to
racing when it created the SportMod class which allowed drivers to enter
Modified racing at a more affordable level. The SportMod class has grown at an
unpredictable rate and now IM CA will apply this theory to Late Model racing. “I
truly believe this new, affordable, class of Late Models will encourage drivers
in Stock Cars and Modifieds, who have always wanted to race a Late Model, to
make this very affordable move”, commented Brad McDonald of I-70 Speedway. Gene
Stigall, promoter at Winston Speedway, the area’s Saturday night IMCA sanctioned
track, agrees.
So dirt track fans, what more could you ask for? Five exciting classes of racing
and it will only cost you Five Dollars to see it all. Where in the nation can
you see grass root, dirt track racing, let alone, Crate Models, Modifieds, Stock
Cars, SportMods and Sport Compacts, all on the same show for the admission price
of Five Dollars. Only at the Dirt Track at I-70 Speedway.
On Friday night, Pit Gates will open at 5:00 pm. General Admission Gates open at
6:00 pm, Hot Laps start at 7:30 pm with racing at 8:15 pm. Pit Passes are only
$15.00 on Friday Night. As always on Five Dollar Fridays, admission is $5.00 –
children 5 and under are admitted for free.
