LebanonMidway Double Points Produces 4 New Winners
LEBANON, MO (July 13) - Fans were treated to an action packed night of racing as
the Lebanon Midway Speedway held a double points night with 4 new faces
collecting there 1st victories of the season and tight racing action.
The Superstock feature would have Veteran JC Newell turn his season around as he
and point leader Donnie Gennings brought the field down to the green with JC
Grabbing the early lead with Gennings right beside him as Travis Hill was riding
in 3rd.Previous weeks winners Larry Pruitt and defending champion Ben Newell
were coming from the back of the pack.On lap 7,Ben Newell's charge ended as
problems sent his car to the pits.Up front JC Newell and Gennings were having a
battle for the lead as Gennings would try several times on the inside,but JC
shut the door.larry Pruitt's charge to the front ended as he spun while running
4th sending him to the rear.On the final 2 laps with JC Newell in
control,Gennings moved to the topside and pulled even with leader Newell,but JC
would rocket off the corners to capture his 1st win of the season with Gennings
a close 2nd followed by Travis Hill,Larry Pruitt and Clinton Betts at the
stripe.
The WingedSprint Cars were tuning-up for next weeks $1,000 to win show with some
surprise runs.Coming down to take the green with the top 2 in points as Joe Todd
took the opening lead over point leader JP Compton on the opening lap.On lap
2,Jeremy Hazel shot around leader Todd and started to check out from the field
looking for his 1st ever win.On lap 4,Dustin Arnall moved around both point
leader Compton and Joe Todd to take over 2nd place and set his sights on leader
Hazel.The action would slow-up on lap 5 as defending champion Clint Todd spun
bringing out the yellow.On the restart,Hazel again pulled away with Arnall
staying a close 2nd.On lap 7,Arnall pulled along side of Hazel and powered ahead
to take the lead with Compton following through.From there Arnall would never be
challanged as he recorded his 1st ever Sprint feature win with Compton,early
leader Hazel,Eric Todd came charging from 11th to finish 4th and Jay Reynolds
rounding out the top 5.
The Bomber feature would also see a new winner as Robert High brought the 20 car
field down on the start and never looked back in recording his 1st Midway win of
the season as newcomer Jamie Barker made his 1st start of the season a strong
one by moving from 6th to grab the runner-up spot with Joe Francis,Wayne Coffman
and Keith Cheever rounding out the top 5.
The FactoryStock again provided a new winner as no driver has repeated yet this
season.On the start,Ben Solberg brought the field down to take the opening lead
with Todd Cook right behind him as this duo started pulling away while Sundance
Keepper was holding to third place.Solberg looke to become the first repeat
winner,but on lap 12 alittle smoke started trailing his car and Tood Cook shot
to the inside groove to take the lead on lap 13 in recording his 1st win of the
season with Solberg,Sundance Keepper,Kris Jackson and point leader Dylan Keepper
following.
In B-Mod action,Jack Lancaster took the opening lead and held it until lap 3
when point leader Jason Otto grabbed control.With Otto setting a fast
pace,lancaster's strong run ended on lap 6 with rearend problems sending him to
the pits.On the restart,Colt Cheevers was making a run to the front and moved
into second place after a good battle with Troy Young on lap 8.Leader Otto and
Cheevers stayed close and then on lap 13,Cheevers made the winning pass to grab
his 3rd win of the season with Otto,Troy Young,Jeff Albright Jr., and veteran
Earl Muilenburg completing the top 5.
The A-Mod feature provided 3 wide action as pole setter Craig Wood brought the
field to the green to lead the opening lap with Brian Brown following,On lap 3
2005 champion Jamie Ragland shot from 4th to second around both Jimmy Willis and
Brown and set his sights on leader Wood.206 champion Tony Jackson Jr moved with
Ragland and after 3 wide action,Ragland took the lead on lap 7 as Wood stayed
close.On lap 9,Jackson followed through and took over 2nd place and set his
sights on leader Ragland.As the top 2 pulled away,the battle for 3rd was tight
with Wood,Willis,Brown and Davis Hendrix fought for position while up front
Ragland was holding off the challanges of Jackson.On lap 18 the yellow waved for
Jack Jones after contact sent him spinning.On the restart,Ragland pulled away to
grab his 2nd win of the season with Jackson,Willis,early leader Wood and Hendrix
at the finish.
The LegendCars provided a strong field and close racing as Park Jones grabbed
the opening lead with Tyler Scott following as a pack of 6 pulled away running
for positions.On lap 7,Scott made a low groove pass to take the lead and was
looking to record his 1st win.With Scott holding off repeated challanges from
Jones,Dave Comer,Justin Comer,Tony Jensen,point leader Tony Hatfield and Ron
Hoffman were battling.Up front on lap 18,Jones pulled alongside of leader Scott
and the 2 rubbed as Jones pulled ahead at the final lap and held off the last
lap efforts of Scott to grab the win with Scott,Dave Comer,Justin Comer and
Hatfield following.
The 75 lap Enduro saw John Wagner Jr take the opening lap lead and never looked
back despite some charges in the middle stages of the race as Brandon Waters,Joe
Francis and Reggie Jackson followed at the finish.Veteran Stan Booth and former
winner Brian Webster were in contention also,but Booth would fall out and
Webster got stuck in turn 2 for a couple of laps taking out both there chances.
Up next will be the Amsoil Special with $1,000 to win the WingedSprint feature
along with the Ozark Mountain Midgets racing along with the
A-Mods,SuperStocks,FactoryStocks,Bombers and B-mods.
