Hudson Masters Midway Mod Feature/Rhoads Makes It 3 In A Row
LEBANON, MO (Aug 10) - Despite Temps over 100 degrees, over 75 Race Teams
provided close racing Friday Night at the Lebanon Midway Speedway as the track
hosted the final double points night of the season.
Action started with the SuperStock class as Larry Pruitt jumped to the opening
lead, but point leader Donnie Gennings would make the pass to lead at the stripe
as Scotty Allen make a pass to follow Gennings.Allen and Gennings would show the
crowd just how close drivers can run together as they ran door to door and
bumper to bumper. The action slowed on lap 5 as Allen pulled-up high with a flat
tire.On the restart,Gennings and Pruitt again battled high and low as Allen who
restarted 11th was charging quickly through the field as Ben Newell had moved
from 11th to 3rd place. With Gennings still setting a quick pace,Allen had moved
into 3rd on lap 12.On lap 13 Ben Newell lost the motor on his car ending his
night and bunching-up the field. With only 1 lap to go,Allen shot to the inside
of leader Gennings coming out of turn 3 and moved to grab his 1st win of the
season with Gennings,Pruitt,JC Newell and Travis Hill following.
The A-Mod feature provided late excitement as Jimmy Willis and Don Luna brought
the field to the green as they swapped the top spot back and forth on the
opening lap as point leader Jamie Ragland made his presence known by taking over
the lead on lap 2.Willis and Ragland swapped the lead back and forth with Steve
Muilenburg moving into 3rd place and gaining. On lap 11,the yellow waved for
debris as Muilenburg pulled-in with problems. On the restart,Willis took charge
and moved around Ragland to take back the lead as last weeks winner Eric Hudson
hadc quietly moved into 3rd place.On lap 16 after a great 3 car battle,Hudson
moved to the top groove to take control and gather the win with Ragland coming
home 2nd with early leader Willis,Brian Brown coming from the last row along
with Hudson and Chris Johnson following.
The FactoryStocks again provide the best racing action with last lap drama. On
the start Sundance Keepper grabbed the opening lead with point leader Dylan
Keepper and Lonnie Henderson and defending champion James Ellis following. On lap
2,Dylan Keepper grabbed the lead as the yellow waved as James Ellis and Bobby
Ratterree got together in turn 2.On the restart Dylan Keepper,Sundance and
Lonnie Henderson pulled away with Dale Berry and Donnie Miller battling for
4th.On lap 6,Henderson moved into 2nd place and applied pressure to Dylan
Keepper as Ellis and Ratterree were moving through the field.Henderson tried
several times to move around Keepper, but Keepper withstood the last lap efforts
of Henderson to grab his 2nd win of the season with Henderson,Sundance Keepper,
Dale Berry and Ellis at the finish.
In B-Mod action Colt Cheevers took advantage of his front row starting spot and
led all 15 laps of the feature withstanding a fast moving Steve Muilenburg to
take his 3rd win of the season with Ed Wilson, point leader Jason Otto and Jeff
Albright Jr following.
In Bomber action Brandon Waters brought the field to the green leading the
opening 2 laps.On lap 3 point leader Mike Piercy took over and would lead lap
3&4.On lap 5 Dusty Rhoads had charged from the 11th starting spot to take charge
as he was looking for 3 in a row.Rhoads pulled away from the 19 car field as
Reggie Jackson who started 12th moved up to battle with Piercy,Joe Francis and
Jack Hamer for position. As Rhoads pulled away the battle was for 2nd place with
Jackson moving around Piercy on lap 16 to grab 2nd place. As the checkered
flew,Rhoads would grab his 3rd win in a row with Jackson,Piercy,Joe Francis and
Jack Hamer Following.

front row starting spot to lead all 20 laps in grabbing the feature win. This
came after last week when Todd ended up flipping his car in the heat race.Joe
Todd followed to finish second with Eric Todd charged from 11th to grab third
with Scott Wedelstadt and Bradley Roberts followed.Point lead JP Compton after
