“Five Dollar Friday”, AKA “Hot August Nights”

ODESSA, MO (Aug 17) – “Hot August Nights” would be a very appropriate new name
for the past few Friday nights, on the Dirt Track, at I-70 Speedway. But, we
will still call it “Five Dollar Friday”, only five dollars for a general
admission ticket, five exciting classes of racing action, every Friday night.
This week, point leaders show their strength in three of the four classes racing
for points.
In the IMCA Modified class, current point’s leader Steven Glenn set a fierce
pace in his #26ss. Following Glenn for second was the #58 of Terry Van Trump.
Behind Van Trump was last weeks feature winner Yancy Shepard in the 22y, #19 P.J.
Conger, the 20t of Mike Tanner, #11 Darrin Shaw and the #12 of Jeremiah Saling.
Brad Whitney in his #x9 IMCA Stock Car, bested the field, Whitney, the current
Stock Car points leader, was chased by the 12 of Russell Walter, the 86 of Gary
Foxworthy, #95 Brian Audette, the #1 of Curtis Shanner and the 97 of Travis
Taylor.
In the IMCA SportMod class, David Truskett in his # 24 took the checker first.
Following Truskett was the 57 of Royce Stanley Jr., the # 69 of current points
leader Matt Marrant, #5 Kevin Jones, the 43 of Cody Graham, #8 Paige Leppin, the
77 of John Miller and the 56 of Kim Keith.
Sport Compact points leader, Jessica Clemons was the victor, in her #69j.
Following Clemons was the 33 of Jason Marrant, #13k Nikolos Ford, the 71 of
Justin Marrant, #C4 Connie Sue Moss, the 10 of Joe Willcoxson, #7w Gary Walton,
and the 23p of Brian Patton. The 12 of John Nelson was unable to make the call
for the feature.
In the exciting “Caribbean Cowboy Barbeque Sauce” Farm Truck division, the 05 of
Benton Johns took the checkered flag first. Following Johns was the 911 of
Richard Scott, #2 Bryan Schwartze, #119 Paul Schwartze, the 84n of Nick Moffett,
#10 Milford Simpson, #9 Tyler Wachs, the 11 of Jim Nelson Sr. and the 3 of Paul
Harphan.
All five of these classes will return to action next Friday night on “Five
Dollar Friday”. Pit Gates open at 5:00; Admission Gates open at 6:00. Hot Laps
begin at 7:30 with racing action at 8:15. For additional information call the
