Last “Five Dollar Friday” Before IMCA Super Nationals

ODESSA, MO (Aug 31) – Drivers in all IMCA divisions raced in front of their
home town fans for the last time, on Friday night, before heading to Boone, Iowa
for the 2007 IMCA Super Nationals. “We have a great bunch of drivers at the I-70
Speedway Dirt Track and I want to wish all of them, headed to Boone, good luck”,
commented I-70 Promoter, Brad McDonald. “I hope they bring some hardware back
from Boone, I am sure they will all represent I-70 Speedway very well at the
Super Nationals”, concluded McDonald.
Winning another feature in the IMCA Stock Car class was Brad Whitney in his #x9
Stock Car. Chasing Whitney for second was the 12 of Russell Walter followed by
the #1 of Curtis Shaner, #86 Gary Foxworthy, the 3 of Brian Houghton, #97 Travis
Taylor, the 95 of Brian Audette and the #11t of Bennie Turner.
In the IMCA SportMod class, the #57 of Royce Stanley Jr. was the class of the
field, winning his second Feature for 2007. Following Stanley was the 9t of Jim
Blaine, #34 Scott Pullen, the 9 of Nic Hanes, #00 Chris Whalen, the 69 of Matt
Marrant, #66 Chris Wright, the 31z of Wade Brown, # 24 of David Truskett and the
11 of John Miller.
In the Sport Compact class Nikolos Ford drove his #13k to his first victory of
the 2007 season. Following Ford was the 6 of David Walker, #31 Kyle Shaw, 62j
Jessica Clemons, #71 Justin Marrant and the 12 of John Nelson. The #33 of Jason
Marrant, #7w Gary Walton and the #C4 of Connie Sue Moss were disqualified in
post race inspection for tire rule violations. The #4 of Shawn Box and the 03c
of Danny Christeson were disqualified during the feature for rough driving and
the 62 of Mark Whittemore was unable to make the call for the feature start.
In a caution marred feature event for the IMCA Modifieds, Terry Van Trump
returned to Victory Lane in his black and yellow #58. Finishing second behind
Van Trump was the 810 of Jesse Wheeler, #8b Andy Benedict, the 71 driven by
Steven Glenn, #19 P.J. Conger, the 91 of Eddie Schwope Jr., #12 Jeremiah Saling,
the 17 of Rod Cordon and the #12cx Travis Johnson.
The Caribbean Cowboy Barbeque Sauce Farm Trucks have become a real crowd
favorite and on this night #10 Melford Simpson led the field to the checkered
flag. On Simpson’s rear bumper for second was the 911 of Richard Scott followed
by #7 Cody Stephens the 19 of Adam Schwartze, #9 Tyler Wachs, the 11 of Jim
Nelson, #2 Brian Schwartze, the 119 of Paul Schwartze, #3 Paul Harphan, the 05
of Benton Johns and the #13 Tim Johns. The #84n of Nick Moffett was unable to
make the call for the Farm Truck feature.
The Dirt Track at I-70 Speedway will be closed next Friday so that our IMCA
competitors can compete in the 2007 IMCA Super Nationals. “Five Dollar Friday”
will return on Friday night September 14th. Pit Gates will open at 5:00;
Admission gates open at 6:00. Hot Laps begin at 7:30 with racing at 8:15. And as
always all admission tickets are only $5.00
