Sedalia's State Fair Speedway heats up during the Missouri State Fair By: Clint Brown SEDALIA, MO (August 3) - The time is drawing near for the 2008 Missouri State Fair and once again that means racing action on the Historic ½ Mile of Sedalia’s State Fair Speedway. 2008 will see a change to the fair racing as a second night has been added to the schedule. Street Stocks, ULMA Late Models, and round 2 of the Impact Sign & Lighting Modified Shootout Series will kick off the action on Thursday, August 14. “When we set out to add a second date to the Missouri State Fair we immediately knew that we wanted to bring the Street Stock competitors back to the Historic ½ mile after a few years away,” stated Director of Competition Clint Brown. “We were fortunate enough to also put together the Impact Sign & Lighting Modified Shootout Series and the ULMA Late Models were a perfect fit to run with the street stocks and modifieds. We’re really looking forward to a great night of racing at the fair.” Adult admission for the nights racing action is only $8.00 with kids 7-12 only $5.00. While ticket pricing does not include fair admission on that day admission will be reduced to $2.00 per person so come on out and make a day of it at the 2008 Missouri State Fair. Grandstand gates will open at 5:00 pm with hot laps set to take to the track at 6:30 pm and heat races at 7:00 pm. On Sunday, August 17, the 2008 Missouri State Fair will once again close out their ten day run with round 3 of the Impact Sign & Lighting Modified Shootout Series along with the O’Reilly Midwest Latemodel Racing Association and the O’Reilly Winged Outlaw Warrior 360 Sprint Cars. “This has turned into a great show over the last couple of years and we look for it to only get better in 2008,” commented Brown. Adult admission for the evening is only $15.00 with Seniors & Military only $12.00. Kids 7-12 are $10.00 with those 6 and under free.
