SouthWest Missouri Tracks Working together On Season Ending
Special EventsLEBANON, Mo. (August 17) - Tracks in Southwest
Missouri are working together to help make some special events even better
for them all as Lebanon Midway, Lebanon I-44,SpringfieldRaceway and Monett
Speedway are helping not to schedule on top of each other starting with the
Labor Day Weekend events.
Action that weekend will start on Thursday Night Aug 28 at the Springfield
Raceway with the Running of the Andy's Frozen Custard John Knutz Memorial
featuring the DLRA All State Insurance Late Models along with the O'Reilly
Auto Parts MARS Late Models. Support Classes will include the A-Mods, B-Mods
and Hornets along with Bombers.
Action will then switch to the High-banks of the Lebanon I-44 Speedway for
the 2 dat event and running of the 6th Annual Larry Phillips Memorial as the
DLRA and Mars LateModels along with many independent teams will be shooting
for the 7500 to win prize money in the 40 lap feature.
Friday Night Aug 29 will feature qualifying heats for the Late Models,
A-Modifieds, Bombers, B-Mods, Factory Stocks and Rookies along with a
Qualifying feature for the Late Models.
Lebanon Midway which normally runs on Friday Nights will not be racing that
night to help support the I-44 Event and Springfield Raceway will not be in
action on Sat Night to also show support for the I-44 Event.
The Sat Night I-44 event on Aug 30 will have the feature events along with
any needed B Features as the A-Mods will be competing for 1,000 to win,
Factory Stocks and B-Mods both 500 to win, Bombers 400 to win and Rookies
will race for 200 to win.
Action then moves to the Monett Speedway with the running of the 4-state
dirttrack championship on Sunday Aug 31.
Other dates and events to show how these tacks are working together are Sept
19 as I-44 will be running the Fall Shootout as Lebanon Midway will not be
racing to support the I-44 Event.
October 3rd and 4th is the running of the Coca-Cola Fall Brawl at the
Lebanon Midway Spedway and Springfield Raceway will not be running that
night to help support the Midway Race.
Springfield will be running the OctoberFast race on October 10th and 11th
while Midway has announced a fall October Series,they will not be running
any of the classes that Springfield is racing that weekend.
"Alot of these tracks share some of the same cars and we also draw alot of
out of town cars for the races.This season has been tight and tough on
everyone as Rain and bad weather has played havic with events at all the
tracks,so we have to work together as much as possible to make these events
successful and not force the fans to choose."quoted Midway co-owner Jack
Jones. "We are already looking at what to do for next season on our rules so
everyone is on the same page.
