I-44 Championship Night Falls To Rain-Phillips Memorial Up Next LEBANON, Mo. (August 23) - The 2008 season championship night at the I-44 Speedway fell victim to a late evening hard driving rain that forced cancellation of the evenings races. Track officials are looking at a possible make-up date as 2 classes had stil yet to be decided. Racing will continue this coming weekend with the running of the 6th annual Larry Phillips Memorial on Friday Aug 29 and Sat Aug 30 featuring a 7500 to win 40 lap feature.Friday night will feature qualifying heats for the AllState DLRA LateModels and the O'ReillyAutoParts MARS LateModels along with qualifying heats for the A-Mods,Bombers,B-Mods,FactoryStocks and Rookies along with a qualifying feature event on Friday night for the LateModels. Sat night will feature the last rounds of LateModels Heats along with the feature events including the 40 Lap LteModel Main Event with $7500 going to the winner along with the $1000 to win A-Mod feature,$500 to win FactoryStock feature,$500 to win B-Modifieds feature,$400 to win Bomber feature and the ever entertaining Rookies class with the winner Grabbing a season high $200 to win. Gates will open both night at 5PM with Racing at 7:30 both nights. |
