LEBANON, MO (Sept 27) - Jeff Wingate of Centertown,Mo. played the waiting game and made a lap 23 pass over leader Frank Brown in capturing the 1st ever Non-Wingedsprintcar feature Sat night at the LebanonMidwaySpeedway and topping the 1,000 to win event. The start of the feature saw the front row of Friday Night's pole dash winner Frank Brown and Steven Cross bring the field down to take the green as Lebanon driver Scott Wedelstadt came from the 5th starting spot on the bottom groove to take the opening lead as Brown,Cross and Wingate were swapping spots.Wedelstadt would start to open up the lead as Brown was working the top groove.On lap 12 the first caution waved as Rusty Quick looped it closing up the field.On the restart,Wedelstadt got to deep in turn 3 and spun sending the leader to the rear of the field giving Brown the top spot with Wingate and Dennis Cordell the top spot.On the restart 6th place runner Kyle Carpenter had something break bringing out another caution.When the race resumed,Brown and Wingate were running side by side with Wingate making the middle lane work as Brown was keeping on the top groove as Galvin Galbreath had worked to challange Cross for third place.On lap 23 of the 25 lap event,Wingate shot to the inside of leader Brown and made the winning pass holding off Brown by 3 car lengths in taking the top prize.Following the lead duo to the stripe were Cross,Galbreath and a quick moving Wedelstadt in the top 5. The B-Mod feature was an emotional moment with an upset winner as Steve Muilenburg and Kenny Dickinson brought the field to the green with Steve Muilenburg grabbing the top spot with Dickinson right behind him.Veteran Earl Muilenburg who started 7th had charged to the third place position on lap 3 and was gaining on the leaders.On lap 5,Dickinson had something break on the rear of the car ending his night.On the restart,Steve Muilenburg pulled away and had opened up a full straight away lead over his father Earl as Wayne johnston,JC Morton and Charlie Gentile were swapping spots.On the white flag lap,leader Steve Muilenburg started to slow down with fuel pick-up problems as Earl made the last lap run to the front.Going into turn 3,Earl shot to the inside as Steve's car moved up the track trying to keep running as Earl came across the line with the win followed by Steve Muilenburg,Wayne Johnston,JC Morton and Gentile in the top 5. The SuperStock feature was all Ben Newell as the 2008 Midway
track champion grabbed the opening lead from outside pole setter Larry
Prewett.Out in front Ben Newell put the car on criuse control to record the
win with a tight battle between Prewett and Travis Hill for the runner-up
spot as Prewett,Hill,Clinton Betts and Chad Smith completed the top 5. The Enduro feature saw a 3 wide start with Brandon Waters taking the early control and then Kansas driver Derek Micheal grabbing the lead.The top runners also includedDusty Rhoads and Mike Scott in the 75 lap event.Micheal was swapping the top spot with Waters back and forth as they started to encounter lapped traffic.Lebanon driver Jamie Ragland had avoided getting lapped early and on lap 60 started a push to the front of the field as Micheal was holding on to a big lead.On lap 70 Ragland had gained ground as Micheal had slowed-up.On lap 73,Ragland ran caught the leader and made the winning pass with Micheal finishing second place and Mike Scott crossing in third.
