Show-Me Racin Series 2009 Rule updates
*All rule additions or changes will become part of the guidelines already in
place
MOTORS:
Cars with open motors will follow the same guidelines before as far as
eligibility (restrictor plate, 390 carb, no 18 degree heads, etc.) however,
any car running an open motor will not be allowed to start better than the
12th starting position in the A feature. If more than one car running an
open motor qualifies better 12th, they will line up based on their heat race
passing points. The only exception to this rule will be for Show-Me members
who have a spec motor and have to use an open motor while the spec motor is
being worked on. Drivers may use an open motor for a maximum of 3 races, or
will follow the same line-up procedure as listed above.
2009 spoiler rule:
Please see website for dimensions - Spoiler may be 10 inches tall, with
bigger side support panels - can mail a template - just call or e-mail me.
New weight rule:
Cars must weigh a minimum of 2200 pounds after the race with driver.
Front Spoiler
All cars may add a “front spoiler” to the nosepiece of the car with a
maximum height of 2” and a maximum length of 24”. The front spoiler will go
no further back than where the hood starts. 2 maximum per car.
Springfield Weekly Races:
We are in talks with Springfield Raceway about 2009 rules. If Springfield
does decide to run “Show-Me” rules at their weekly shows as they say they
are 99% sure they will, then points will be kept separate from the series
races and added in at the end of the season as bonus points. Drivers will be
able to add approximately ½ of the Springfield races to the season-ending
point total. For example if there are 10 Springfield nights available for
Show-Me Series bonus points, then a driver would get to take his 5 best
finishes and add the points to the series race points after the final
Show-Me points race. Each weekly Springfield race will be 40 points to win
and drop 2 points per position to 10th with the rest of the A feature
qualifiers receiving 20 points. The “Springfield bonus points nights” will
not be on nights that a Show-Me Series race is held at another track. A
driver must attend 75% of the Show-Me Series special events to be eligible
for point fund money and prizes regardless of how many races they compete in
at Springfield Raceway.
Springfield Raceway, Monett Speedway, & DLRA will allow Show-Me Cars to run
with the updated rules package.
