USMTS Modified National Hunt Heading To SpringfieldRaceway
With Thursday Night Thunder
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (August 8) - The Best of the Midwest in Modified Racing
will be battling Thursday Night Aug.13 at the Quick-Quarter of the lightning
quick SpringfieldRaceway as the United States Modified Touring Series will
be on hand as they compete in their 3rd race of the Hunt to determine the
2009 National Champion.
The Battle will not only be for the $3,000 winner's share of the prize
money,but for those valuable championship points as the USMTS will be making
their final stop in Southwest Missouri.
Drivers headlining and competing in this talent laiden field will include 8
time National Champion Kelly Shryock of Iowa,Oklahoma's Jason Hughes who
claimed the Bear Tire Mo-Kan Regional Title,Jon Tesch of Waterton,S.D and
the Great Plains Regional championship,Iowa's Z-Man Zack VanderBeek,Arkansas
Veteran Johnny Bone Jr and many other regulars of the Touring Series.
Headlining the local drivers scheduled are Springfield's Terry
Phillips,Jeremy Payne, SpringfieldRaceway current USRA Modified point leader
Jackie Dalton of Carthage,points runner-up Mitch Keeter of Webb
City,LebanonMidway USRA Modified Champion Jamie Ragland of Lebanon,Steve
Martin of Ozark,Brian Green of Pierce City and many others compete to make
the A Main.
Also competing will be the SportMods in a $350 to win non-points event along
with the ever growing LegendsCars.
Gates will open at 5PM with hotlaps schedule at 6:45 and Racing to start at
7:30 Sharp.
