Increased Points Fund Announced for the 2010 Season
by: Dan Robinson
WHEATLAND, MO (March 31 2010) - With the 2010 racing season now only
days away, Officials with Lucas Oil Speedway are pleased to announce a new
and improved points fund for 2010. The 2010 Track Champions in the TNT Quick
Shop Late Models, the Pitt's Homes A-Modifieds, and the Carson's Corner Napa
Factory Stocks will each receive a minimum of $2,000, $1,500, and $600
respectively in cash plus an improved contingency program.
The most noticeable difference from past seasons is that all drivers that
run at least 70% of the shows in their respective classes are now eligible
for Post-Season awards including cash and contingencies. It is required in
2010 that you participate in at least 70% of the available races to be
eligible for postseason awards. Events rained out or otherwise canceled
shall not count against the requirement for eligibility in the championship
point fund. In previous seasons, only the Top 10 regardless of the number of
races attempted were eligible. "We wanted to make sure we did something for
all of the drivers that work hard all season and loyally run Lucas Oil
Speedway week in and week out." stated Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager
Dan Robinson.
The breakdown for the TNT Quick Shop Late Model class point fund will be:
