SEDALIA, MO (May 4) - For race fans and drivers, there’s really only one speedway to be at this Friday May 7th and that is Missouri State Fair Speedway. Fan or driver, we have you covered with a 360 Sprint Car special, Late Models, Modifieds, and the ever-popular and action-packed Street Stocks racing on the half mile! Even if you’re not a race fan, you should still get out to the speedway and bring Mom along for the fun, after the night ends she may wind up being a new dirt racing fan! We have an incredible evening of racing on tap and Mom will have several opportunities to win lots of great prizes in honor of Mother’s Day weekend. The biggest prize will be a $500 gift basket from Mary Kay! Additional prizes include a family photo shoot, ten large Dominos pizzas, two therapeutic massages, flower arrangements, Sonic gift cards, Bill Sharps BBQ coupons, Goody’s Steak Burgers coupons, and W-K Chevrolet coupons. If you haven’t been to the ‘Historic Half Mile’ in a long time, this is the week to check us off of your things to do list! The Rick Ball Ford 360 Sprint Cars return in a big way this Friday with a whopping $2,000 to win Mother’s Day weekend special event. Watch the sprint car drivers as they try to tame the ‘Historic Half Mile’ racing for the huge payout and first-place trophy. The Subway Late Models will race for a $1,000 to win and the W-K Chevrolet Modifieds will be in action for $750 to win. One of the most anticipated races of the early season is the special $1,000 to win Street Stock special event. This division features some of the fiercest door-banging battles around and you can bet with the first place money and guaranteed $100 to start the main event dollars on the line, drivers from many surrounding counties will be on hand to show their stuff at the speedway. The last time street stocks were in town emotions ran high and sparks were flying so you won’t want to miss the best drivers in the Midwest competing on the half mile speed plant with big money on the line. Be sure to bring your binoculars and zero in on all the action! After two straight weeks of rainouts, the entire staff at Missouri State Fair Speedway is eager for the track to get back to action. Week two of the season takes flight at 5 p.m. this Friday when the pit and admission gates open for drivers and fans. Hot laps begin at 7 and racing starts at 7:30.
