Some new names are setting on top of the season long points battle after last Sat Nights exciting feature events. Springfield's Erik Maggard is the new Budweiser A-Mod point leader with a 2 point lead over last season's runner-up Mitch Keeter of Webb City.Defending champion Jackie Dalton of Carthage who fell out early in the race Sat night fell to 3rd place but is only 10 points behind Maggard.Brian Green of Pierce City and Branson's Jody Tillman round out the top 5 in the high-power of the Modifieds Willard's Sean Williams is still the leader in the very tough Reliable Chevrolet GM Performance SportMod class but veteran Wayne Graybeal is quietly moving up in the standings only 25 points from the top spot.Republic's Bobby Maggard Jr,Lampe's Eric Tinderholt and Alba's Roy Maynard round out the top 5. Any driver running a 602 GM Crate motor in this class is eligible for extra money.Regulations do apply. Ava's Jack Hamer has taken back the top spot in the Wheeler Metal StreetStocks.Hamer winless in feature competition this season has been a consistant driver in the features and winning a few heat races.Defending track champion Robert High of Springfield is only 17 points behind the leader while Marshfield's Matt Keeth,Republic's Shawn Strong,a fast moving Randy High of Springfield and Rusty Forrest complete the top 5. Joplin's Justin Comer is still on top of the Legend Car standings with another Joplin driver and last weeks feature winner Park Jones closing the gap down to 15 after his feature win last Sat night.Billings driver and early season feature winner Rob Watson is still in the chase only 2 points behind Jones as WEbb City's Dave Bauer and Oldfield's Rodney Baird complete a vert tough top 5. Webb City's Kaleb Copher holds a slim 7 point lead over 14 year old JC Newell of Stoutland.Newell has been strong in the features,but seems to struggle just a bit in the qualifying heats in showing no sight of letting up in the chase.Nixa's Jeremy Manes, Sparta's Earl Muilenburg and Joplin's Kelly gough complete the top 5 in the newest style of economic racing to the area. Arkansas driver Josh Pinkley sets on top of the PureStock point standings so far in this early part of the season. Grandstand gates open at 5 with Hotlaps starting at 6:05 and racing action at 7PM sharp. The pitgates open at 4 with drivers draw stopping at 6:30. Grandstand Admission is only $10 for the action with kids 6-12 $5 and 5 and under Free. Sat night June 26th is the much awaited LateModel event as the running of the John Kuntz Memorial/Andy's Frozen Custard Shootout will feature for the first time ever in Southwest Missouri the meeting of the MARS and MLRA SuperLaateModels going head to head with drivers from all around the 4-state area competing.
