Current Midway Modified point leader Wayne Graybeal has showed consistant finishes in the top 5 all season long but has yet to visit the winners circle. That was until Friday night when Graybeal the longtime veteran driver held off repeated challanges from young gun Micheal Stake and Eric Tinderholt in capturing his first feature win of the 2010 season. After finishing second in his heat race, the redraw put Graybeal and Stake on the front row as Stake went to the top side right off the bat while Graybeal would lead the opening lap.On lap 2,Stake took over the top spot as the duo went side by side.Graybeal grabbed the lead back on lap 3 as last weeks winner Tyler Brown had moved from 11th to the forth place spot as Tinderholt closed in on the lead duo.Caution waved on lap 7 bunching field field up .On the restart,Grabeal using the bottom of the track and Stake running the highside kept up the battle as Tinderholt,Brown and Shawn Strong closed-up quickly. On lap 13,Graybeal began to pull away as Tinderholt moved around Stake for second place and closed-up on Graybeal but Graybeal withstood the charge in taking the feature as Tinderholt,Stake,Brown and Strong completed the top 5. StreetStock action saw extra money up for grabs as they competed in double features to determine the $400 to win prize money with another new 2010 winner taking the honors. Sportsman feature action saw a spirited battle early between leader JC Newell and Mike Jones.JC Newell would lead the first 7 laps of the feature until point leader Ben Newell made a high groove pass to grab his 7th feature win of the season as JC Newell,Jones,Clinton Betts and Tim Ballinger completed the top 5.
