LA MONTE, MO (July 16, 2010) - Hot weather and rain in all directions did not hamper the excitement at L A Raceway at LaMonte on Friday evening. Sprinkles halted the action for only a few minutes and as the clouds came and went another new winner appeared in the KOKO/KWKJ Winner’s Circle in the Pitts Homes A Modifieds. Jamie Ragland, Lebanon, MO showed the way around the track for the first time this year in the W-K Chevrolet Friday Night Racing Series. Ragland was followed to the line by Dean Wille, Warrensburg; Joshua Stephens, Buckner; Terry Schultz, Sedalia; and Scotty Allen, Urbana. The #45 of Colt Cheevers from Macks Creek is always a threat to win the Pitts Homes B Modifieds whenever he comes to the area and as he crossed the finish line first, he was followed by Stephen Muilenburg, Sparta; Chris Brockway, Warrensburg; Jacob Grotewiel, Clifton Hill; and Tyler Lews, Columbia. Mitchell Moore of Edgerton, KS once again finished first in the Gill Signs/Speciality Sportswear 305 Sprints but Ryan Schlender was right there in second trying to find a way around Moore. Cody Baker, Lone Jack; Miranda Arnold, Sedalia; and Austin Alumbaugh, Higginsville followed them across the line. Jason Thompson, Concordia showed the way in the Xtreme Motors Street Stock division followed by Scott Krause, also of Concordia; Ted Welschmeyer, Tebbetts; Kevin Perkins, Sedalia; and Marc Carter, Warrensburg. Looking almost unbeatable in the Jim’s Tire Service Hobby Stock division is Luke Skidmore, Green Ridge who once again crossed the finish line ahead of Michael Tyler, Knob Noster; Ronnie Livengood, Sedalia; John Simpson, Sedalia; and Danny Crum, Hughesville. In less than two weeks, the cars and stars of the American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) make their first ever appearance at L A Raceway for a National Event along with the Winged Outlaw Warrior 360 Sprints when they heat up the track for the Summer Nationals on Friday, July 30. National ASCS Drivers such as Jason Johnson, Brady Bacon, Gary Wright and Shane Stewart are expected to be competing with local WOW drivers, Josh Fisher, Jonathan Cornell and Randy Martin. The W-K Chevrolet Friday Night Racing Series will continue this Friday presented by KIX Country 105.7.
