Chris Tonoli Scores First Factory Stock Win of 2010 before
Rain Halts Remainder of Racing Action
WHEATLAND, MO (July 26) - With oppressive heat blanketing the region and
heavy storms moving through the area, California Native and current
Hermitage Missouri resident Chris Tonoli beat the rain and a stout field of
Carson's Corner Napa Factory Stocks to score his first win of 2010 just
before the skies opened up dumping heavy rain on Lucas Oil Speedway. The
Pitt's Homes A-Modified and TNT Quick Shop Late Model Features were not able
to be completed and have been postponed until Saturday July 31st and will be
run prior to the regular program. Gates will open at their normal time of
5:00 with racing set to get underway at 7:30.
Tonoli driving his beautiful #71 Black and White SS Chevelle started inside
Row #2 behind heavy hitters, Sundance Keepper and Chip Shaddox but it was
Tonoli taking the win as a fierce battle for the top spot ensued as the the
threatening skies moved ever closer. With the rain picking up just past the
halfway point in the race, the checkered flag waved with Tonoli in the top
spot. Keepper held on for second at the finish while Wheatland's Chip
Shaddox scored a Top-3 finish. Randy Gilmore rebounded from a hard crash
last time out to take home the fourth spot with Neosho's Chris Hawkins in
fifth at the finish.
