WARRENSBURG, MO (August 4) - The quest for the coveted Central Missouri Speedway track championships resumes this Saturday during Heartland Waste Race Night featuring the Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety in all divisions on August 7. The ‘mighty’ modifieds, ULMA late models, street stocks, and b-modifieds will all be on hand for the duration of the race program to bring the fans the absolute best in close-up dirt-racing action on the fastest high-banked clay oval in the Midwest. Last weekend, Dustin Boney continued his dominance in his deuces wild #22 racecar by claiming his seventh modified feature win of the year. Find out Saturday night if anyone can challenge his dominance in the modified ranks such as point leader Jason Thompson, defending champion Aaron Marrant, or Kansas hot shoe Rick Beebe. Jason Bodenhamer has been gaining steam in his modified in recent weeks as well and will surely be a threat to win as will a multitude of additional drivers who make their way to CMS to compete such as Terry Schultz, Tyler Schmidt, James McMillin, and Joe Walker plus additional drivers who are known to show up and compete for the $1,000 to win, $160 to start weekly feature payout. Bodenhamer not only races a modified but he has also recorded six feature victories in the ULMA late models this year and recently took over the point lead for ULMA to go along with his track point lead. If you want to see the best ULMA drivers you need look no further than the late model pilots at CMS, there you will find ULMA stalwart Bob Test, defending and two-time track champion John Binning, Brett Wood, travelers Shawn Rayfield and Lane Ehlert from the Greater St. Louis area as well as Steve Clancy, previous feature winner Bob King, Brian and John Pipes, and two-time track champion Kevin Coyne. Last weekend in the street stock ranks sheet metal bent, tempers flared, one car turned over, drivers surged in the points, drivers fell in the points, one driver recorded his 93rd track win, and 19 cars were on hand to provide the fans an entertaining night of action in the always exciting stock car division. John Brooks racked up win number four on the year, leading all other drivers in the win category for the street stocks this year. Brian Johnson regained the point lead after a spin late in the race and a later recovery into the top five. Fifteen year old Bryce McMillin gained the second position in the standings and is ready to rack up his first feature win as he sets his sights on a track championship. Michael Mullins, Chad Eickleberry, and Bobby Ruff all had nights they’d soon forget and it will be interesting to see how they choose to attempt to recover this weekend. Brian Cox, T.J. Faulkenberry, Herb Dannar, and Marc Carter all had strong finishes last weekend and will look to improve upon their finishes this weekend. Will Brooks even show up again this week? Will certain drivers return, will someone new visit victory lane, who knows! Come to the races Saturday night and find out for yourself! In the b-modified ranks, Brad Smith, the grey beard of the b-mod drivers in his thirties took his sixth win of the year over a hard-charging group of teenagers and young twenty-something’s. Dalton Kirk, Jacob Ebert, the Brothers Isaacs, Ethan and Lucas, as well as Nic Bennett are probably getting sick of eating Smith’s dust at the finish line and will surely be hungry to dethrone the dominating #99 car of Smith, will they get it done Saturday night? Only time will tell, the b-modified special is fast-approaching on Labor Day weekend and the drivers will surely want to make their presence known to everyone that they can make it happen in their ultra-competitive machines. Troy Carlyle, previous feature winner Chris Brockway, veteran Mark Evinger and Gary Fain are also riding high in the top ten of the b-mod standings heading into Saturday night. The annual kid's night at the races events for Warrensburg's own Central Missouri Speedway will take place the following Saturday, on August 14. If you would like to donate items for kid’s night such as small school supplies, candy, small toys, racing-related items or giveaways for the kids, please drop them off at the pit entrance at the track prior to kid’s night, be sure to leave your name so we can give proper accolades to everyone making the kid’s night such a great night! On kid’s night, all children twelve years and under will receive a free hot dog and drink courtesy of track promoters Earl and Susan Walls. The kids may also participate in foot races in five different age groups for boys and girls on the speedway during the intermission-time break. Every child 12 and under attending the kid’s night races will go home with a goodie bag stuffed full of various school supplies, race-related items, candy, and small toys, all donated by various drivers and fans.

At CMS, the action is always close and the show moves along, there are no unnecessary delays in the program and generally you will witness over fifteen events in a three-hour time span. General admission is $12 and there are plenty of discounts including $8 admission for senior citizens 65 years and older, military w/I.D. card, college students with college I.D., and kids 13 to 17 years of age. Children 6 to 12 years of age get in for $6 and young ones 5 and under are always free; anyone permanently confined to a wheelchair may enter our admission gates free! There are two sides of the speedway to choose from, both include full concessions and restrooms. The front side features the CMS Hammer Down Bar right off of Hwy 13. Our pit-side stands (non-alcoholic) are located adjacent to the pit areas for our drivers. Pit gates open weekly at 4:30 with grandstands opening at 5. Hot laps begin at 7, racing begins 7:30.
