(CMS) Continues Off-Season Planning with Exciting Announcements!

WARRENSBURG, MO (December 11, 2010) - Trophies are now firmly planted on the
mantel piece, placed in the trophy case, or hung on the “I love me wall” and
this means only one thing … the 2011 race season is now the main focus for
the CMS staff, the contingent of talented drivers, and the track’s
passionate fans. The official Countdown to CMS 2011 starts now! There are
just 126 days remaining until owners and promoters Earl and Susan Walls
swing open the gates for their eighteenth-consecutive year of operations at
the speedway. At the recent Central Auto Racing Boosters (C.A.R.B.) awards
banquet, the couple doled out over $10,000 in end-of-year point fund money
and various awards for the top ten drivers in each of the track’s respective
classes. In addition, they presented each of the track staff members with a
commemorative appreciation plaque/clock for their years of dedicated service
and commitment to the speedway. Track Preparation Specialist Don Abney was
recognized as the track’s 2010 “Unsung Hero” by the Walls during the special
presentations portion of the banquet. In addition to the awards, some added
excitement took place on the stage after the special presentations as Andrew
Armstrong proposed to long-time CMS Pit Admissions Attendant Kay Clark. It
was a completed surprise to Kay and she did say “yes,” all of us at CMS
congratulate the happy couple on their engagement.
When April rolls around, CMS will undergo a big change in the way things are
conducted at the track by introducing the use of RACEceiver one-way radios
between designated officials and all drivers. A vote was taken by
registered voters from the 2010 season and participants overwhelmingly chose
to initiate the use of the technology at the speedway. You can give the

Since it was first released in November, the 2011 schedule has now become
even more exciting for fans with additions and modifications regarding the
annual “Big Three” summer holiday specials. Susan Walls recently finalized
details with Midwest Lightning Sprints representative Bob Douglas and now
proudly announces that CMS will host the group on three separate occasions
next year. The sprints will compete on Sunday evenings, or what CMS refers
to as “night two” of each of the annual Memorial Day, Independence Day, and
Labor Day special event weekends. The Big Three summer holiday observances
fall on Mondays in 2011 and this should allow for more racers to compete on
each of the weekends as well as allowing the track to add some
non-traditional CMS classes such as the Midwest Lightning Sprints.
According to Douglas, “Everyone is really looking forward to running at the
Burg” and likewise, the track is looking forward to forming a strong
relationship with Douglas’ group.
Street Stock drivers will be glad to hear that “start” money for their main
events next year will increase to $50. In addition, street stock drivers
will have plenty of opportunities for additional track time as they are the
designated support class for the previously announced first-ever CMS visit
by the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) on April 16, 2011. The
street stock contingent will again be on hand as support for the night two
Independence Day and Labor Day weekends with the annual $1,500-to-win Street
Stock special taking place on Saturday, May 28. Speaking of Memorial Day
weekend, another exciting announcement for next year is the return of 305
Sprint Car racing to the speedway for the first time since 2006! The class
last competed on a weekly basis at the speedway in 2006 when Josh Fisher was
track champion. The Sunday, May 29th visit by the 305 sprinters
will be a perfect opportunity for local drivers to showcase their talents to
the CMS fans. There are no other 305 Sprint Car events planned (as of this
release) in the local area for this particular evening. The four weekly
classes at CMS are ‘Mighty’ Modifieds, ULMA Late Models, Street Stocks, and
B-Modifieds.
Additional special events include the previously mentioned USMTS race on
Saturday, April 16, the $3,000-to-win Sunday, May 29th modified
special, the Saturday, July 2nd $1,500-to-win ULMA late model
special as part of ULMA’s annual Triple Crown Shootout, the
$5,000-to-win/$1,000-to-start Sunday, July 3rd annual BBQ Bowl
for modifieds, the Saturday, September 3rd $1,500-to-win
B-Modified special, and the $3,000-to-win final modified special on Sunday,
September 4th.
Earl Walls has given track employees an indication that he would like to
host an additional post-season special event for the modifieds and in the
coming week the track staff will be gathering to review the possibilities of
hosting this as yet unnamed event. CMS is well aware there are many
post-season specials in the local area and wants to ensure that any possible
dates do not conflict with these existing and well-attended events. On the
same token, Walls has stated that he wants this to be a race on a “national”
level, stay tuned for further developments on this thrilling new
possibility!
Modified drivers will experience an additional five laps during their weekly
main events next season, meaning the official lap count will now be 25 laps
for the track’s premiere racing class each week. A few more exciting news
bits from the speedway include new kids admission pricing for next season.
All kids aged 6 to 12 years will receive $5 admission for all events,
including all of the special events! The Walls have also graciously changed
all Saturday “night one” admission prices for the Big Three summer
specials. Both grandstand and pit pass admissions will remain normal
admission prices on the Saturday nights during the special events.
Discounts will still be given to Active Duty military personnel with proper
I.D. and Senior Citizens 65 yrs and over next season. For complete details

Drivers, you may register for the 2011 season at anytime by logging onto the
track’s registration page from the Website and filling out and sending in
your registration fee of $60 to the listed address. There will be no
pre-season meeting for the coming season; however, the CMS staff will be on
hand at the annual Bodee’s Racer’s Auction in late January in Sedalia, where
drivers may also pay registration fees as well as order their RACEceiver
radio.
Central Missouri Speedway is currently filling its schedule with various
race nights for business partners: L.J.S. Graphics, Pepsi, KOKO Radio,
Midwest Printing, Comfort Inn, RSC Equipment Rental, 98.5 FM The Bar,
Heartland Waste, and the Army National Guard have already renewed their
particular race nights for the coming year. There are still plenty of
opportunities to become involved with the excitement of motorsports by
