Rylan Long, Rustin Miller, James Flood and Jack Simmons Grab
Lucas Oil Speedway Wins!
WHEATLAND, MO (May 7, 2011) - With Mother Nature finally treating fans at
Lucas Oil Speedway to a picture perfect night, Rylan Long, Rustin Miller,
James Flood, and Jack Simmons earned feature wins respectively on Coyote
107.9 Night this past Saturday. Fans were also treated to a fun night on the
vendor midway as a great selection of local businesses were on hand for the
2nd Annual Business Expo.
In the TNT Quick Shop Late Models, Greenfield, Missouri's Rylan Long won for
the second consecutive week driving the red and white #18 GRT by Phillips
Chassis on the ultra fast Lucas Oil Speedway oval. Ninth starting Chris
Hawkins out of Neosho, Missouri gave it a valiant effort but ultimately
settled for second at the finish. Springfield, Missouri's Chris Morelock
started seventh and finished third with Browning, Missouri's Tommy Cordray
capturing the fourth spot. Local favorite Andy Kennedy out of Wheatland,
Missouri crossed the AAA Start/Finish Line in fifth. Cross Timbers,
Missouri's Evan Hubert appeared to have the dominant car until having engine
issues midway through the race ending his night. J.D. Hubert also retired to
the pit area with mechanical issues while running in the Top-3. Points
Leader Larry Jones had a tough night starting 16th and finishing 17th at the
finish ultimately giving up the point lead to Long who now leads Cordray by
eleven points.
The Pitt's Homes A-Modifieds welcomed a new face to Victory Lane as Houston,
Missouri's Rustin Miller made his first ever appearance at Lucas Oil
Speedway count as he captured his first Lucas Oil Speedway win over a hard
charging Terry Kirk. Kirk out of Urbana, Missouri finished second at the
finish after starting fifth. Wheatland, Missouri's Jason Pursley was the
hard charger of the night as he worked his way all the way from 16th to
third at the finish which included a trip to the back of the pack after an
early race spin. Waynesville, Missouri's Josh Woody and Laquey, Missouri's
David Hendrix finished fourth and fifth respectively. El Dorado Springs'
youngster Chase Jones finds himself on top of the Pitt's Homes A-Modifed
Point Standings.
Neosho, Missouri's Chris Hawkins led the Carson's Corner Napa Factory Stocks
field to the green flag from the pole position and led much of the early
going but it was Billings, Missouri's James Flood overtaking him for the win
after starting in the third spot. Hawkins slipped to third at the finish
with Warrensburg, Missouri's Mark Carter sandwiched between them in the
second position at the finish. Everton, Missouri's Sundance Keepper held on
for fourth with Wheatland's own Randy Gilmore charging from ninth to fifth
at the finish. Keepper leads the points standing by just five points over
Flood.
