LAMONTE, MO (May 15, 2011) - The weather on Saturday night, felt more like November than May with cold temperatures and a north wind, but the riders competing in the Outlaw Flat Track Motorcycle Shoot Out at L A Raceway at LaMonte presented by Yeager’s Cycles and Budweiser heated up the track and gave the bundled up crowd an exciting evening and a great show. This one time only event in this area always brings out the best riders in the nation and this event was no exception. Jared Mees, last year’s returning winner, Nichole Cheza and Kenny Coolbeth showed why they are some of the nation’s best riders and came out with podium finishes in the Pro Twin Main Event. Mick Kirkness was expected to be in the mix but the rider went down in the second corner and was not able to restart his bike. Vintage Open rider Chris Egbert was transported to the hospital for injuries he received in his main event as contact was made with another rider that sent him up and over his handlebars and into the path of fellow competitors. This Tuesday night, the sound of auto races will return to the L A Raceway with a special mid week makeup race. Yeager’s Cycle Night at the races will feature all five classes in competition but the show will start promptly at 7:00 with no practice laps. For more information, go to www.laraceway.com .
