WARRENSBURG, MO (May 17, 2011) - Last week, the racing action on the track was hotly contested despite cool weather as the talented field of competitors gave it their all on the smooth and multi-grooved high-banked clay oval at Central Missouri Speedway (CMS). This Saturday, many of those same drivers will make their way to the track in the ‘mighty’ modifieds, ULMA late models, street stocks, and b-modifieds. The best drivers in all classes will test their skills on KOKO 1450 AM Radio race night at the Cliff Harris Warrensburg Ford/Chrysler-sponsored track. Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce members are invited to join a pre-race tailgate party event sponsored by KOKO radio and CMS in the parking area along Hwy 13 at 5 p.m. All Chamber members attending should show their Member-to-Member Savings Card at the gates for discounted admission tickets. As always, pit gates will open at 4:30 p.m. with grandstand admission opening at 5. Hot-laps start at 7 with racing at 7:30. The competition at CMS is second-to-none and has been thrilling local race fans with the best drivers from all over the Midwest competing for the weekly Waterloo Storage Products Victory Lane toolboxes, winning trophy, and guaranteed cash payouts! The racing last weekend was a sight to see with the smoothest track of the season despite the tough weather conditions. Kansas City and USMTS modified driver Dustin Boney and Terry Schultz from Sedalia put on quite a show for the race fans braving the cool weather conditions. In the ULMA Late Model division 2010 track Champion, Jason Bodenhamer from Centerview outlasted Warrensburg driver, Brett Woods and the previous feature winner, Bob King of Independence to take his first feature win this year. The Street Stock division had another good battle with Bates City driver, Brian Ziegler taking the checkers for his first feature win. He battled with Jake Conley from Olathe, Kansas and point leader Michael Mullins from Kingsville. The B-modified drivers had some challenges, but Ethan Isaacs from Bonner Springs, Kansas prevailed for his first 2011 feature win just ahead of Grain Valley driver, Nic Bennett and two-time feature winner, Jacob Ebert, from Oak Grove.
