Nemo Quarry Thursday Night Thunder this Thursday, June 30th
plus the Area's Largest and Wildest Fireworks Show!
WHEATLAND, MO (June 27, 2011) - Nemo Quarry in Pittsburg, Missouri
presents a Special Thursday Night Thunder Edition of the Rockstar Energy
Drink Weekly Championship Series this Thursday, June 30th as Lucas Oil
Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri kicks off the Independence Day weekend with
the area's best side by side dirt track racing and the area's largest and
wildest fireworks show presented by AM Pyrotechnics. The Frog's Signs Lucas
Oil Speedway Junior Fan Club will be hosting their second kid's bike
give-away of the season as three lucky Junior Fan Club Members will go home
with a brand new bike courtesy of Frog's Signs.
In addition the TNT Quick Shop Late Models will be running the second leg of
the Crawdad's Classics Gourmet Hot Sauce ULMA Triple Crown Shootout
Presented by Imhoff Construction of Jamestown, Missouri as over 30 ULMA Late
Models checked in for this event in 2010. The Pitt's Homes A-Modifieds will
be racing for a special $750 to win top prize courtesy of Hermitage Lumber
while a special $500 to win Factory Stock race is also on the card this
Thursday thanks to ALPS Grocery Stores in Pittsburg, Missouri.
Classes in action this Thursday include the TNT Quick Shop Late Models,
Pitt's Homes A-Modifieds, and the Carson's Corner Napa Factory Stocks.
Rylan Long continues to lead the TNT Quick Shop Late Model standings by 59
points over 2-Time and defending Track Champion Tommy Cordray, but Neosho,
Missouri's Chris Hawkins is now just two points behind Cordray in the third
spot. Wheatland, Missouri's Harlen Kennedy sits alone in fourth while
Springfield's Chris Morelock and Wheatland's Andy Kennedy sit deadlocked in
the fifth spot heading into this Thursday's racing action.
The Pitt's Homes A-Modifieds have a new point leader this week as Fair
Grove's Mickey Burrell now assumes the point as youngster Chase Jones found
the double points last Saturday a challenge as heat race contact made for a
long night on the red 03. Jones now sits in the second spot just 29 points
behind the leader Burrell with a long stretch of weekly series racing still
to come. Flemington's John Fellers has made steady progress up the
leaderboard as he now occupies the third spot while Urbana's Lyle Dietrich
and Waynesville's Josh Woody round out the Top-5
Billings, Missouri's James Flood found the double points to his liking as he
now holds a slim 14 point lead over defending track champion Randy Gilmore.
Flood won the last time out while Gilmore finished in fifth as the closest
points battle at the speedway swings back and forth between the two veteran
drivers. Sundance Keepper now sits in third after mechanical trouble again
sidelined him early this past Saturday after running with the leaders in the
early going. Warrensburg, Missouri's Mark Carter is in fourth with
Wheatland's Chip Shaddox just behind in the fifth spot as less than fifty
points separate the Top-5.
