LEBANON, MO (September 19, 2011) - Friday Night the Lebanon Midway Speedway will crown its 2011 season champions as the Speedway holds the Season Championship Races in all 5 classes. Action will feature the Factory Stocks, Modifieds, Midwest Modz, StreetStocks and PureStocks with racing set to start at 8PM. Tyson Troutman of Houston will become the first FactoryStock driver in the history of the MidwaySpeedway to become a repeat champion. Troutman won the title last season and holds a big enough lead over Donnie Miller to grab his second straight.A tight battle between last weeks winner Donnie Miller and Rookie Shawn Whitman finds only 34 points between those 2 drivers.Whitman has had a rough string of luck in the last 3 weeks which dropped him down to third after climbing all the way to the second place spot. Defending Modified Champion Michael Stake of Phillipsburg will also become a 2-time and consectutive champion as the youngster holds a 82 point margin over veteran JC Newell.THe real battle will be for second place and beyond as drivers are looking to move themselves up in the final rundown. The PureStock title is still up for grabs as current point leader and second year driver Matt Young of Lebanon holds a 15 point cushion over defending champion Kory Barker and a 54 point margin over Kolt Barker.Young with 1 feature win this season has been consistant all season long in heat races and feature events. The StreetStock class is also still up for grabs as 2-time and defending champion Joe Francis only holds a 40 point margin over Lynchburg's Brandon Waters.In the last several weeks,the StreetStock class has went up in car counts and has everyone guessing to just who will win the feature as several drivers have found the front part of the pack weekly. Defending Midwest Modz Champion Little JC Newell holds a 52 point margin over Rich Reynolds while Sam Petty has charged into the 3rd place spot only 9 markers behind Reynolds.Newell will need to start the feature to grab his second straight championship in this 2nd year class which has provided great racing.Reynolds and Petty will keep Newell in check while trying to take over the runner-up spot in the final standings. Grandstand Gates open at 5:30 with Racing at 8PM Sharp in all 5 classes,plus after the races a mechanics race and powderpuff event will be held.This will give the people that helps support the drivers all season long in the pits and the drivers wifes and girlfriends a chance to race a short race. In case of incliment weather the season championships will be held on Friday night Sept 30th. The Speedway will still have Friday Sept 30th and October 7th and the 8th ending with the popular Fall Brawl.
