SPRINGFIELD, MO. (January 11, 2011) - Springfield Raceway owners Jerry
Hoffman and Doug Bland have announced their tenative 2012 season schedule
with another season of action on the track named"The Quick-Quarter" which
provides side by side racing no matter what class and plenty of action.
Special events along with a very strong weekly show mix has area race fans
marking their calendars already.
With 26 scheduled race dates this proves to be a win-win situation for both
drivers and fans as the Speedway will have something for everyone
The season will begin with the rain-date for the O'Reilly Turkey Classic
presented by Bad Boy Mowers on Sat March 10th featuring
LateModels,A-Mods,B-Mods and Legends as an outstanding purse will await the
drivers in all 4 classes.THe weather date will be March 24th in case of bad
weather.
March 24th the Speedway will host the actual 1st annual March Madness
featuring the battle between the Regional MARS and MLRA SuperLatemodels
along with Modifieds,StreetStocks,Midwest Modz and Legends.Again this could
be a weather date for the Turkey Classic.
The
chase for the championship will begin on Sat April 21st and will end on Sat
Sept 1st.
The weekly points chase will feature USRA A-Mods,B-Mods,Midwest
Modz,Purestocks,Legends,the New Young Guns(for LegendCars with drivers ages
12-16 Years of age) and StreetStocks(Bombers).
19 points races high-light the schedule and even with special events,the
normal classes will be scheduled to compete for points in that time span.
THe
Schedule special events include the John Kuntz Memorial presented by Andy's
Frozen Custard as the MARS and MLRA LateModels battle along with support
classes on May 12th
The High horse power of the USRA A-Modifieds will battle for extra money
while also competing for track points on May 26th and also on June 23rd.
A very popualr event for B-Mods is the Reliable Chevrolet GM Performance
$500 to win special on June 2nd.
THe
always exciting POWER I Midgets will return again this season on June 9th
along with support classes.
The Speedway honors a special friend on June 30th as the 2nd Annual Rob
Burgess Memorial will find the Midwest Modz battling for the $500 top prize.
July
28th will be the 1st annual Summer Meltdown with added money in all classes.
NO Racing on Aug 4th as the Ozark Empire Fair rolls into Springfield as
drivers prepar to head for the stretch drive in the Championship Chase as
the Points battles end on Sept 1st.
The
Speedway will then take off Sept 8th due to the IMCA SuperNationals and
prepare for the Big 4 After season Specials.
Sept
15th the Larry Phillips Memorial will be held with MLRA and MARS LateModels
doing battle as the Speedway has worked it out to have Sept 22 as the
raindate just in case as the Speedway honors the Springfield NASCAR 5 time
National Champion.
The
always high paying Bordertown Casino Octoberfast will be held on October 6th
and will feature a Winged 360 Sprint Car battle between the Lucas Oil ASCS
Sooner and Warrior Regional drivers.
The 2nd
annual Boogerman will be held on October 27th with classes to be named later
as the Speedway helps to raise money for Breast Cancer along with having a
Safe Trick or Treat event for the kids.
To end
the season,the speedway will hold the always awaited Turkey Classic with the
date being moved up 1 week this season on November 17th with the raindate on
November 24th.

weather has only really been good for us 2 years on this event,but it really
draws the drivers."quoted Co-Owner Jerry Hoffman.
"Normally the week before has been decent weather and if not then we can
try it the following weekend.Family time is tight during the race season and
we want everyone to be able and spend that quality time together."
