PEORIA SPEEDWAY RELEASES 2012 SCHEDULE, BUD LATE
MODEL SERIES
PEORIA, IL (January 14, 2011) - Peoria
Speedway is proud to announce our 2012 schedule of events, including the
introduction of the “Budweiser UMP Super Late Model Series”. The
“Budweiser UMP Super Late Model Series” will feature 10 UMP Super Late
Model races, each paying at least $2,000 to-win. The winner of the 10
race series will receive a check for $5,000 and 80 percent driver
participation is required to be eligible to get point fund monies. The
series will pay back 10 places.
The schedule kicks off with 6 special events in a row, beginning with an
open practice session from 4-9 PM on Saturday, April 7. The “Budweiser
UMP Super Late Model Series” kicks off with the 5th Annual “Don
Bohlander Tribute” race, paying $4,000 to-win for the UMP Late Models.
April 21 is a $2,000 to-win UMP Modified special, followed by races 2
and 3 of the Budweiser Series on April 28 and May 12, both paying $2,000
to-win.
The Lucas Oil POWRi Midgets return to the track after a sensational show
in 2011 on Saturday, May 19. Race 4 of the Bud Series will be held on
Sunday, May 27, paying $5,000 to-win for UMP Late Models. The first
regular night of UMP racing, featuring UMP Modifieds, Limited Late
Models, Street Stocks, Hornets and Mini Sptints will be on Saturday,
June 2. Round 5 of the Bud Series will pay $2,000 to-win for the Late
Models on Saturday, June 9.
Friday, June 15 will be a return of the AMA All-Star Flat Track
Motorcycles, with “Legends Under The Lights” joining our normal racing
program June 23. The Burris Thunder Go-Kart Tour will make a 2-night
stop at the track on June 29 and 30. The UMP Late Model Summernationals
will be race 6 of the Bud Series on Monday, July 2. July 7 and 14 will
be a regular UMP racing program.
July 21 is race 7 of the Bud Series, paying $2,000 to-win for the UMP
Late Models, followed by a regular racing program July 28. August 4 will
be race 8 of the Budweiser Series, paying $2,000 to-win, with the AMA
“Prelude to the Grand Nationals” on Friday, August 10. The ASCS National
Sprint Car Series returns to the track on Monday, August 13. The
next-to-last Bud Series race will pay $2,000 on August 18. August 25 is
a regular UMP racing program.
Saturday, September 15 will be the “Super Mod Twin 50’s” Illinois State
Championship events. The Budweiser Series final points race will be the
58th “Illinois State Championship 100” for UMP Late Models, paying
$5,000 to-win. The season ends with the 2nd Annual Al Archdale, Jr.
Memorial Mini-Sprint Nationals on September 29.
As previously announced, Peoria Speedway has partnered with Spoon River
Speedway and UMP Modified drivers who compete at the others’ track will
receive 5 bonus points for the corresponding track. Peoria and Spoon
River have worked together on scheduling so drivers from the Modifieds,
Limited Late Models and Hornets can compete at each track, without
scheduling conflicts. Spoon River has moved several races to Sunday, and
Peoria has agreed to not run on certain Saturday nights so Spoon River
can get the Peoria regulars to run with them.
