SPRINGFIELD, MO (February 12, 2012) - Springfield Raceway owners Doug Bland
and Jerry Hoffman are pleased to announce several of the 2012 class naming
sponsors for the upcoming season.
Budweiser
will come aboard again for the USRA A-Modifieds and is the official Adult
beverage of the "Quick-Quarter".This will be the second season that
Budweiser has gathered the naming rights of the main event class at
Springfield.The Will Fischer Distributing Company of Springfield has
provided excellent customer service just as SpringfieldRaceway does.Jackie
Dalton of Carthage captured the 2011 USRA Budweiser RHS Track title.
Reliable Chevrolet has joined again to be the naming sponsor of the Highly
competitive B-Modifieds.This class has went right down to the wire the last
3 seasons in the championship chase and offers drivers 2 different type of
motor rules with a spec motor and also a GM 602 Crate Motor.In 2011 Veteran
Bobby Magard Jr just nipped Youngster JC Morton in the final points
tally.Maggard had both the spec motor earlier in the season and then
purchased a 602 Crate motor as Morton ran the crate motor all season long.
For the Championship 2012 chase and other selective events,Reliable
Chevrolet through the GM Performance program will offer $350 to drivers
using the 602 Crate motor with the highest finishing crate driver taking
home an extra $125 while the next highest feature finishing crate car will
gather $100 with $75 and $50 available after that.If the motor was not
purchased through Reliable then only 1/2 of the bonus money is available.
Also new this season through the GM Crate motor program is the CT525 for the
Budweiser USRA A-Mods.The highest finishing A-Mod driver using a CT 525 in
the feature can take home an extra $100 if the motor is purchased from
Reliable,if not then only $50 is available. Reliable offers full service GM
Service and has both New vehicles and used along with program vehicles at
3655 South Campbell in Springfield,Mo.
Casey's General Stores has signed again to sponsor the Midwest Modified
class and is the official pit-stop place for the SpringfieldRaceway.This
class grew in only its second season of competition from an average of 7
cars to 20 plus nightly. This affordable way to go Modified racing along
with Casey's brings the best to everyone in excitement and quality. Fourth
generation driver Trevor Drake of Webb City captured the title in 2011 and
brought home the most win coming from the 12th starting spot almost every
week.Casey's General Stores will have several promotional things going on
their Facebook page along with Springfield Raceway this season.
Wheeler Metals in Springfield has been a strong sponsor for the Speedway and
for 2012 will be the title sponsor for the always 3-4 wide racing of the
Legend Cars.Always providing an outstanding customer service to the
public,Wheeler Metals feels that the Legend Cars provide the crowd with an
exciting and entertaining event week after week.Joplin veteran Dave Comer
overtook early season point leader Park Jones and then went on a streak with
top 3 finishes for over 7 straight features coming from the 12th starting
spot in a 20 car field. This season to help add for the younger generation
of up and coming racers the Young Gungs in Legend Cars will feature drivers
in ages from 12-16. The Speedway is hoping to finish-up Sponsor naming
rights to this class in a couple of weeks.
For the Full Bodied race car fan the Springfield Raceway will offer to
classes in 2012 as PureStocks and StreetStocks(Bombers) will also be an
important part of the Springfield Raceway Family.
Pepsi Cola has joined to title sponsor the Purestocks and knows that the
grass-roots of area racing lies in this class.The official soft drink at the
"Quick-Quarter"will provide a cool-down lap to the fans as they witness the
racing at Springfield.The Springfield-based Pepsi bottling company offers
Pepsi,Diet Pepsi,Mt Dew,Diet Mt Dew,Purifina bottled water and other Pepsi
products at the Speedway.
The Pure Stock class at Springfield has probably the most affordable set of
rules for people to get into the racing world and stays solid on their rules
as Head Tech-Man Tommy Thulin is always busy in the Tech area.Last season
Ava's Jack Hamer captured the title as many new drivers came aboard to
compete in this class
Returning in 2012 to the Speedway will be the StreetStock Class(Bombers)
which offers drivers in the Full Bodied cars a chance to sharpen their
skills with Williams Preservation of Springfield being the Class
Sponsor.Rick Williams and son Terry of Springfield have always been involved
in racing for many season and are excited about bringing the class back to
the Speedway.Rick used to compete in this class as not only a driver but
also a car owner in season's past.
The Springfield Raceway is a high-banked 1/4 dirt oval and is considered
the Raciest track in the 4-state area.Many event sponsors will be named
later as the staff puts the finishing touches on an outstanding 2012 race
schedule
The season will kick-off with the running of the O'Reilly Auto Parts Turkey
Classic presented by Bad Boy Mowers on Sat March 10th featuring
LateModels,USRA Modifieds,B-Mods and Legends and will follow with March
Madness on Sat March 24th featuring the MARS/MLRA LateModels and support
classes.The 2012 chase for the championship begins on Sat April 21st.
