Moberly, Mo. (Jan. 8, 2006) - Awards Banquet for the 2005 season.
The date is next Saturday evening, the 14th of January in 2006 at
the Moberly Municipal Auditorium in the south part of downtown
Moberly, Missouri at Rollins & Clark. 5pm is the time for social
hour with cash bar. The dinner is to start at 6pm, catered by
Kre'ative Katering of Moberly. Awards will follow at 7pm, with
pictures of the top ten season finishers to be taken. Dance to DJ
entertainment by Bob Hardy to 11pm.
At the conclusion of the awards for the top 10 places in the 4 cyl.
Hornet class, where 1st, 2nd and 3rd place was separated by only two
points each,
Season Champion David Lorton has a special event planned. After the
class
presentation, Lorton's ponytail will be (voluntarily) sheared by his
sylist. The resulting p'tail is to be donated to "Locks of Love" for
use to children, 18 years of age and under, suffering from long term
medical hair loss. Please see

The top ten finishers in 24 Raceway's seven classes of: A-modified,
B-modified, Sportsman, Hobby Stock, 4 cyl. Hornets, Thunder Trucks
and NEMO Dwarf Cars, along with the Powder Puff class, will take
place following the dinner. Individual nominations have been
requested and will be voted on in the four categories of: 1) Most
Improved Driver 2) Hard-luck Award 3) Sportsmanship Award and 4)
Most Valuable Pit Person.
Admission for the banquet and dance is $15 per person in advance,
with a
form available on line at www.24racewayinmoberly.com . Payment goes
to
24 Raceway, PO Box 553, Moberly, Mo 65270. Door admission will be
$20 per person. Preparations for around 340 have been made. Payment
for track memberships for the upcoming 2006 season, along with
reservations for the 60 concrete pad rentals, can be also be paid on
Saturday night.
The rules have been revised and are now available on the website.
And for those asking, American Racing Tire is the standard
requirment in the applicable classes for 24 Raceway for this 2006
season. A practice session for the Saturday afternoon of April 1,
and again on Sunday, April 2 is now on the 2006 schedule.
