Testing postponed at 24 Raceway, and Opening Night move back a week due to weather

Moberly, Mo. (March 31, 2006) - The severe weather that hit the Moberly area on Thursday night has left the track infield entirely too muddy, along with the rainwater standing in the parking areas west of the grandstand. Even the wind and sun on Friday was not enough to adequately dry out the grounds, so this weekend's scheduled practice sessions are postphoned until next. Both April 8 and 9 will now be the practice days from Noon 'til Dusk, so please remark your calendars for Test & Tune to be next weekend.

The season opener is now to be April 15 at 7pm. This will begin the racing toward the 2006 points standings, and this year, opening night will include the first appearance of the Limited Late Models for their once-a-month visit to 24 Raceway!

The Show & Shine Car Show on Saturday April 8 will take place as scheduled, beginning at Noon at 24 Raceway's area near the highway. Entry fee will be $5 per car and includes plaques to all who enter, door prizes and a 50/50 drawing by the Mid-Mo Cruisers Car Club (as a fund raiser for their scholarship funding). Food & drink will be available at the concession stand. Come out and see some nice show cars and trucks from the area, and see some of the racecars before the start of the 2006 season. These folks sponsor about eight car shows a year across Missouri and have experience at putting on a good one.

For the test & tune, racecars will be allowed onto the track just two at a time for a maximum of five laps get their racing set-ups and their techiques"dialed in". A pass to the pit area for each of these two weekend days will be $10 per person per day. And the grandstands will be free to those who just need to spend some time watching racecars moving around the high banks of Moberly on the Saturday and Sunday afternoons of April 8th and 9th. Times are from Noon to dusk each day. These practice days are designed for the drivers to "get a feel for the track" before the actual start of the season, now on April 15.

So now you can come out and for the both the Shine & Show at the south end of the grounds, and the Test & Tune on the track at 24 Raceway, next Saturday in Moberly, each beginning at Noon and lasting until dusk.
