24 Raceway Opening Night set for this Saturday
the 15th of April.
MOBERLY, Mo. (April 12, 2006) - Last weekend's practice days at 24 Raceway in
Moberly brought out around 110 raceteams for the re-scheduled 2006 Test and Tune
event. The track was in great shape for the two days as the drivers got their
feel for the upcoming season with the additional dirt that's been applied to the
track's surface. The grandstand had a good amount of fans braving the cool temps
to catch a view of the action. The car show, held at the south area of the
track's 46 acre layout near the highway, also brought out some great cars for
the Shine & Show, with about 30 cars in attendance. Many thanks to the Mid-Mo
Cruisers Car Club, and especially to their two members who set this up, Robert
and Jim, for their hosting of this added event for last weekend.
Saturday night will kick off the 2006 race season at 7pm with the beginning of
the points tally towards the season championship for each of the five classes.
The Limited Late Model class will also race this Saturday night at 24 Raceway,
running under the same rules as those used at Callaway Raceways.
Dirt Track Racing at its Best begins at 7pm. A driver's meeting, followed by hot
laps, will start at 6:15pm. Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $5 for kids,
ages 6 to 12. Five year olds and under are free. A pit pass will cost $22 per
person. So if you've been missing the action that takes place at the high banks
of 24 Raceway in Moberly, it all starts up again this season on Saturday night
for the five classes of A-modified, B-modified, Sportsman, Hobby Stock and 4
Cylinder Hornets. Bring the family out to enjoy it!
