Dancer Wins before Rain Ends Night at Culbertson Speedway By Darin Racek CULBERTSON, NE (May 9) - The officials at Culbertson Speedway tried to hasten to get the opening night show completed on May 9. However, only one A Feature could be completed before the rains fell. The remaining four A Features will be run on Friday night, June 6, before the scheduled heats and A Features for that night. The gates open at 6 PM, and the races will start at 8 PM, Central Time. Mikey Dancer of North Platte managed the lone A Feature win of the night in the IMCA Stock Car A Feature. Dancer started out front and drove out to a large lead. A little over half way, heat winner Casey Werkmeister of Maywood caught him. As Dancer held him off, heat winner John Huffman of McCook caught them, making it a three car race out front. With two laps to go, the heat winners started battling for second, and that allowed Dancer to clear himself from them and take the win. Werkmeister held off Huffman for second place. Lloyd Meeske of Champion hit the wall in the his heat race, but was able to finished fourth. Jesse Taylor of Fort Morgan, Colo. came in fifth place. Earlier in the night, John Huffman won his second race, as he also drove
in the IMCA Modified class. Fellow McCook driver Ronnie Wallace also earned
a win in the division. The IMCA Hobby Stock heats were won by Benkelman
driver Michael Brunswig and Wray, Colo. driver John Groshans. Dalton Dolan
got by fellow Oberlin, Kan. racer Royal Fisher late to win the Mini-Truck
