Dawson County Raceway IMCA Cornhusker Classic is Oct. 3-4

LEXINGTON, Neb. (Sept. 16) - Promoter Allen Wissmann recently announced
information for the Cornhusker Classic on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 3-4 at
Dawson County Raceway.
The sanctioned special will feature IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars
and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks.
The two day event will be two complete shows. The top six in the Saturday
night features qualify for the top six spots for the Sunday show in each
class.
Modifieds will run for $500 to win and $75 to start on Saturday and $1,000
to win and $100 to start their Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot
qualifier on Sunday. Stock Cars will run for $300 to win and $50 to start
Saturday, and $500 to win and $75 to start on Sunday. Hobby Stocks run for
$200 to win and $30 to start Saturday and $300 to win and $40 to start on
Sunday.
Payouts are based on 24 cars starting the main events and car counts of 40
Modifieds, 30 Stock Cars and 40 Hobby Stocks.
An open practice will be held Friday, Oct. 2 from 7-9 p.m.
Saturday's races will begin at 4 p.m. and the Sunday races will begin at 3
p.m. Gates will open at 5 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on
Sunday.
There will be no rain date.
Early registration for the event must be completed by Friday, Sept. 25. The
Modified fee is $100 or $125 after that date A one-day registration may be
purchased for $75. Stock Car drivers will pay $75 for early regis tration,
$100 after Sept. 25, or a one-day only fee of $60. Hobby Stock fees are $50
for early, $75 for late, and $50 for a one-day only. Drivers may download
registration forms and track rules on the Dawson County Raceway website

be mailed to Dawson County Raceway, P.O. Box 204, Bertrand, Neb., 68927.
Grandstand admission prices for the Saturday and Sunday shows will be $12
for adults and $5 for children ages 6-12 each night. There is no grandstand
fee for the practice night. Children 5 and under free get in the grandstand
all three nights. Pit passes will be $15 on practice night and $25 on both
Saturday and Sunday.
A camper corral set up at the fairgrounds, in the northwest corner of the
parking lot next to the highway and north entrance, at a cost of $30 for the
weekend. Dawson County Raceway sponsor Holiday Inn Express is discounting
rooms for the race weekend at a rate of $80 a night for a king bed or two
queen beds.
