NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (May
11) – Big Dog Chassis returns for a fourth consecutive season as title
sponsor of the Dakota Classic Tour for IMCA Modifieds. The 21st annual
series runs from July 11-16 at tracks in North Dakota and Saskatchewan. Big
Dog will provide a portion of the $2,000 point fund to be paid to drivers
finishing in top 10 point standings. All series competitors
will be required to display two Big Dog decals on their race car to be
eligible for point fund shares or contingency awards. Sunday, July 11 and
Friday, July 16 events at Dacotah Speedway in Mandan bookend the tour. The series is at Estevan,
Sask., Motor Speedway on July 12, Williston Basin Speedway on July 13 and
14, and at Southwest Speedway in Dickinson on July 15. Each feature
pays $1,200 to win and a minimum of $200 to start. IMCA national, home
region and Allstar Performance state
points will be awarded each night. Feature
winners and the overall tour champion become candidates for the 2011 Fast
Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. More than 100 drivers from
10 states and three Canadian provinces competed in the 2009 series.
Thirty-six drivers vied at all six events as the tour established a record
average of better than 60 entries a night. "There are big plans for
the 2010 Dakota Classic Tour and Big Dog Chassis returns in their now
familiar title sponsorship role,” IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder said.
“Car counts have increased and records have been broken each of the previous
few season and there is no reason to believe that trend won't continue. The
support of Big Dog Chassis and the rest of the associate sponsors have been
a contributing factor to that success." Information about chassis and high performance parts available from the North Platte, Neb., manufacturer is available by calling 308 532-6740 and at the www.bigdogchassis.com website.
